I retired 2 years ago from a 31 year career. I decluttered my house in the last 2 months, you inspired me!!! I couldn't stand all the stuff!!! Being away at work, I was able to ignore it. It is exhausting to manage stuff and to declutter. But decluttering feels great once it is done❤
I know you are a busy mama and time is precious but I love the kitchen decluttering at your mom's house. Will you be doing any more?

@@CatherineElaine I was thinking how appreciative she must be to have such a simplified kitchen especially during struggling times of health. What a blessing.❤ For herself or anyone helping her.
In middle school and high school, it will be writing assignments that you keep, as they think about life and dream about their futures. They truly start sharing their hearts in ways they would never think to tell you.
I loved the thoughtfulness of this video! As a mom of a now grown son, I can definitely appreciate your desire to keep them little and to just soak up all the sweet moments with them in this season of life. It goes by so so quickly! So I’m glad you’re seeing the value of your time with them and your hubby over the management of all the stuff that eventually ends up in the trash anyway. You’re such a good mama! ❤
I moved countries a few months ago and had to buy “everything”……..I have 3 teenage boys and we had lots of “stuff”. Before we moved I declutterred. Then when I moved I bought all of the organisational bins. What ever fit in them stayed and all the rest- was donated. Third time round I’ve now nearly completed the whole home and it’s feeling good. I also have minimal kitchen “stuff”, I find I really do not require a lot at all….so we were very intentional with every purchase.
Yes, to the outdoor videos and please more decluttering your moms house. I loved them 2 videos. Thanks
Catherine you're very talented and i pray God keep blessing you with more and more wisdom. Very beautiful tips and tricks to help us all. Lots of blessings and prayers for you all.
Yes, please show the seasonal swap of your kids' clothes.😊
Enjoyed this content. Loved your tips, especially being aware of what you take out but more importantly what you bring in. Thank you for sharing.
I have been decluttering our home for months now and I feel like I haven’t made a dent. But I’m not giving up!
As someone who has learned to slowly downsize over the last decade and watching a lot of minimalist documentaries and videos, I chose the happy balance of living minimally.
Yes! Less is MORE! Always have a place for something ❤
Thank you so much for making this video! It’s helping me so much. I have lived in the same house for 19 years, a house that’s pretty small also, and you would not believe the stuff we have accumulated. I’m looking forward to decluttering majorly this summer!
1 in 1 out for us every time we purchase stuff. My husband and I also talked about buying clothing once a year for us and twice for kids.

That’s a perfect rule to live by!!
You should be proud of yourself!! You've done amazing things in your home and you have motivated us to do the same! Love you and your channel! 😀😀👍❤
You’ve come a long way on your decluttering journey. For me the hardest thing was to stop the inflow of stuff. I try to only shop with a list, it’s easier with food than stuff. I usually don’t like visiting stores and that’s good but hello internet… And digital decluttering, I always unsubscribe from newsletters around black friday when everyone bombard me/ us with their offers. It’s a struggle sometimes when you want to stay within your budget and buy what you can on a discount but keep the balance. I’ve also set up a ”no buy list” of items I’m ”not allowed” to buy: candles, note books etc. On the other hand I’m always allowed to buy all the clothes I like because I usually don’t like a lot they offer in the stores and if I don’t keep up my clothes start looking dingy because I don’t have a lot. I only but ”perfect” clothes, everything has to check my boxes: perfect fit, it has to be made in my prefered material/s and be comfortable.
120k, wow that was fast, congratulations…. 150k here you come.😊
Just a side note until my boys have jobs, my house, my declutter. I let them know when it was going to happen, however if it hasn't been used or touched in 6 months it's gone. Until they are out of the house then they have a say, but until then this is how I can manage my home and it maks the decluttering so much easier.
Very informative. I will definitely try to follow some tips and hopefully one day will achieve that goal. Thank you ❤
Thanks for this video! I’m also getting back at things after having emergency gall bladder surgery 3 weeks ago. It totally made a huge difference for my hubby to keep up the house on his own while I was recovering since we’ve purged so much. Thanks for always being real and encouraging ❤ I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day! 💐
Would love to see a backyard/patio set up! I just moved to a new house with a patio and I need some inspiration! 😊
I love any videos you out there - keep doing them. Also, I really enjoyed the decluttering videos from your mothers house! 😊
Really enjoyed this video with so much variety and great tips. Thanks too for sharing your journey of maintaining and decluttering your home. Love the idea of the outdoor deck area video. I get four seasons, too ❤
Great decluttering and shopping tips and advice. Less is more is my tip. Don't buy unless needed , have a place 2 put it, or will use it. The least amount of stuff u have the less time it takes 2 clean the home. Yes make videos u mentioned
I have been using a shredder of some kind, for decades. My current one cuts plastic cards with ease.
That Eureka Robot Vaccum is awesome! 😁 You always work so hard for your family and home. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day! 🩷
I love pretty much of your content. It keeps me motivated. We have 4 kiddos, and i enjoy seeing how others do their seasonal clothing swaps
I ❤️ love this kind of video Also you have done a fantastic job of declutterring I am doing the same thing this year and it is reducing my stress and anxiety. Your organization board is a great idea Thank you. 🙏

Good video Catherine, I like declutter and clean tips, thank you
I love the cleaning motivation videos!
Definitely would like to see the deck makeover!
I started decluttering last week and found that I had a ton of stuff I have purchased for whatever reason I thought I needed it for and then forgot about it and ended up ordering other things for that same reason and now I just have a ton of stuff. I am overwhelmed by it all and really have no idea why I am so obsessed with buying things and I really need to be intentional, but I have no idea where to start.
This was a great video, Catherine. Yes, to the backyard video. I also really enjoyed your decluttering videos at your parents' house. Hopefully, you can do more of those. Have a Happy Mother's Day ❤
Video fantastico!!!
I loved this video. And I love the tips you gave about decluttering in this video and also in the two previous videos at your mum's house. I will watched this video a few times for motivation and also when I declutter my things, and clean my home. And 100%, comparison is the theif of joy. And ahhh, I spot a Taylor Swift TTPD jumper!
Love all of your videos!
When you really start decluttering, you'll ask yourself: "Do I even need an area rug?", "Do I need both a dining table and bar stools?". Your eyes will start to open.
Might want to research the effects of using dryer sheets... A suggestion for your area rug sliding around is a rubbery mesh grid that you place underneath to prevent the sliding.

I typically use my truly free dryer angel or wool dryer balls but I keep the dryer sheets on hand for when I can’t find either of the above
I agree with everything you said about declutterring as well as what we bring into our home! I’m not a minimalist either but I def manage clutter very well because it makes my brain at ease! 😊
I love watching your videos! You are so inspiring! ❤
I would love outside videos!
I like your organization board.

I agree that a paper shredder is useful to have in the home. But since you have little kids, please make sure that it is kept unplugged until such time that you are using it. Is a matter of safety.
I shred everything...even junkmail.

Hope you have a very Happy Mother’s Day Weekend. 🥰
Yes i would like to see the decuttering of their clothes if you choose, Lerene
Great video
Awesome video!
Enjoyed the video! Thank you!
I think you're doing great but I do know it's hard to not compare so I'm glad you were able to get away from that head space. That vacuum looks huge! I wonder if its just cause the base is smaller....those features though look pretty awesome! Sutton was so cute! Apple juice! Lol. I say yes on the setting up the deck😃

Haha yes it is for sure looking big because the base is small! It’s the same size as any other robot vac I’ve tested out! And thank you!!

Love the video! I try to follow the Fly Lady app for a cleaning schedule. I am curious if you have any tips for curating a home style, even though you mention not having a ton of decor, your house has a whole similar style and I really enjoy it! I think maybe I don't know how to find mine because most of the furniture my husband and I got was hand me downs and not necessarily items I would have picked out.
I love your videos and that you are not a minimalist I watch some of these people and I think to myself how do you live in your house and not make a mess lol
What does the folded blanket in-between the flat sheet and the comforter do?
Great tips Catherine❤ I only have 1 set of trash bags and whenever I do a declutter, the bags break loose, any ideas on what to do?
@CatherineElaine

Well depending on if it’s trash or donations, sometimes I use laundry baskets and bring stuff to the donation center in those!

Article!
Hi! I think your house is big enough. You’re always decluttering because you’re kind of shopaholic. But you’re on a right way! Less clothes, electric helpers, dishes, chemicals for home. I have it 1000 times less than you, house with 1 bath (I don’t want to clean more than one bathroom!) and it’s smaller with only 3 cabinets in the kitchen and only 1 drawer. No one in my family has dresser with drawers. Everyone has his own closet without drawers. My son wears uniform to school, so he needs 3 white t-shirts for sports and 3-5 coloured for home. I don’t buy any cheap decor (only antiques and art) and so on. I don’t have dryer and microwave, no electric help in the kitchen but coffee machine)). Nevertheless we are eating only self made food! I cook 3 times everyday. Of course I’d better burn useless papers in the fireplace then buying additional electrical stuff. Less home + less stuff = less cleaning + more fun and enjoying life 🌼 But you did a great job! Many other people should learn your methods 🤗 I’m sorry if made some mistakes, don’t like using vocabulary)) Greatings from St.-Petersburg, Russia 🤗🙂🌞

So nice to hear your approach. Very responsible and I imagine aligned with many people in this world. I will say, almost all of us Americans fall victim to consumerism to various degrees. Catherine has far less than most Americans - on purpose. She is more intentional than most American influencers I watch, not to mention people I actually know.

I agree. I also think that the house is big enough. You have big kitchen, kids rooms, bed room, living room. For four people is more than enough space. Bigger house is more expensive, more space to clean, more clutter etc. maybe less toys, clothes would help to enjoy the space without so much cleaning. Greetings from Hungary.

I recognize that a bigger home isn’t for everyone but we do feel we’re on top of each other in our current home. We certainly don’t need a mansion but we would like additional closet space and one more bathroom! Of course in this economy though we’re just grateful we have a roof over our heads.
My home is in need of a reset 😢
Move South, get more for your money!
