You don’t have to be mechanically inclined to use a machine to put pipes together. A plumber would sweat it together, that pro press stuff is temporary. All good, Smells like money.

So glad I'm not in the building trades! Never seen so many haters and Complainers and can't believe you're doing it that way because my way is the best, obviously... just so tiring already. Like everybody literally knit picks everything. The guy is a pro and he did an awesome job and showed a neat trick. I don't see the problem if you didn't like it just scroll by if you did like it give it a like. No I'm gonna be bitter and talk about how solder is the best! Couldn't imagine being on a job site with these people. But I guess that's where all the fighting comes from, physically that is! Because that wouldn't last too long lol

One of the Very best things a Boss ever Said to me was: "Make it Look like it Growed There!" THAT'S something that has stuck with me furore than 35 years of Werxxing!

I get hundred of calls every year because of thelis type of system leaking at the elbows fittings. I cut it out and solder in new fittings that I know will still be leak free 40 years from now. Not sure if general contractors who are not licensed master plumbers are installing this system or if it's handymen or un license plumbers. But I get a lot of calls so I hope they continue to use this system because it generates at least $42,000 additional income for me on a yearly basis

100’s of calls, really. New tech and it’s definitely installer’s mistake. Even the Unions are using them to keep down on the cost of fire watch. We all take pride in our sweating and it feels like it takes out the craftsmanship but press comes in real handy sometimes.

Real plumbers don't use lasers. We just use bigger escutcheons. In all seriousness your work is beautiful. It's hard to get press joints to lay straight like a solder joint. The press always moves the connection a tiny bit especially if your trying to run full lengths in a long a wall or something.

Very true, this is called press deflection. Ie, Viega recommends counter pressing fittings so that you can minimize deflection. Usually worse on copper, black iron not as much of an issue

Tried to get my plumber to get one of these. He said he had talked to other plumbers who had used them and had lots of call backs. He said besides that they were too expensive. I said, looks to me that as expensive as labor was, it would pay for itself in nothing flat. I don't think he cared for my statement. He really wasn't all that happy about me replacing all my early 50's plumbing with PEX tubing clear from the water meter. The city about 5 years ago replaced all the old iron with PVC or CPVC up to my meter.
