Often, these 2 "Banjo Techniques" videos just popped up on my phone from 3 years ago. These are great...thank you!👍I've already incorporated "walking up the neck" from one of your other videos, and I like it's "drive."

Thanks! Super helpful. Watching your other videos I couldn't figure out how walking the fingerboard worked. Come to find out I was just overcomplicating it 😂

Heck yeah Clifton! That last alternate string pull off tip was exactly what I was looking for. Amazing man. Thanks for keeping this stuff alive 🤘

Hi Clifton. As well as the overhand style, I've used the " Seeger Style" using the index finger to pluck up. Since you talked about opening up the hand for the strum, I've noticed that it is easy to have the hand open for the strum with this style rather than breaking the "claw". Also this style lets one go into 2 finger picking pretty easily. Thanks for all of your videos- all great.

Now that is a good sounding Cluck Old Hen. Much better than mine for sure. That is why I say Clawhammer over hand or whatever you want to call it is a driving style. Love it. To me this is just good traditional banjo. Nothing boring or repetitious for sure.

Hey Clifton. The first time I ever saw you on KZread, you were playing Rocky Island with Julie Childs and I noticed you flicking the fingers on your right hand. I wondered about that as I've never seen anyone else do it. Also seems like I remember Stringbean walking the finger board in some old videos but not to the extend you do. I love it! 😊👍

I learned to flick my fingers _and_ to "walk the fingerboard" from George Gibson of Knott County, Kentucky.

What song is that at the beginning? That's quintessential banjo for sure
