I recall my husband listening to this theme tune, I watched a Parkinson interview with Clint Eastwood this evening. It was recorded in 2003 and on it Parkinson made reference to the fact that Clint had composed the theme tune. Remembering that my husband had told me he liked the tune I had to find it as I couldn't remember the tune until I heard the first note, then I instantly remembered it. Wonderful. Sadly my husband isn't here to share the music with me but I know he would have enjoyed it. Xx

This song brings me both saddness and hope. Saddness for the loss and hope that there is light at the end of the dark tunnel we call life.

That would be Leinnie Neauhaus and Clint Eastwood whom he met in 1952 in the U.S Army aged 22.

I go to the Brown Palace in Denver on Saturday afternoons and I make the pianist play Kate's Theme every time I go. People love it.

There is a beautiful woman in my memory with whom I am dancing and holding close to this song. We were soulmates, yet providence and destiny would hold that we would never be together. Our souls recognized each other the moment we met, back in 2006. We spent a long weekend on Coronado Island, in San Diego, together, and I had this kite I flew that resembled a tall ship. The breeze on that beach that weekend was so gentle, but stiff enough to catch that tall ship kite and lift it into the heights above that beach above our heads. That weekend, that beautiful blue eyed woman told me she loved me and I broke her heart by responding to her that I didn't feel the same about her. That simple action on my part has been one of my life's most profound regrets. I found out that this past Christmas Eve (12/24/2020), Cindy passed away from renal failure. At her bedside, instead of me, there was another guy and that simple fact was another profound regret of mine. Another dear friend of mine once told me that, in our lives, there are those who come in who become our "passions". Those passions are seldom people we end up with, on life's long journey, but they are long-lived in our hearts and memories. Cindy was certainly one of my life's deepest passions and I am so sorry that I never got a chance to hold her close to this song and tell her how much I really did love her.

Y el final es aún más extraño. Después de algo semejante lo más habitual en la literatura es que hubiera sido severamente castigado. Pero no, parece que al final le salió bien la apuesta. Creo que también tiene que ver con la idea de la venganza justa; los crímenes que comete (sin entrar en las disquisiciones sobre si son crímenes, homicidios, asesinatos, en fin, cada uno) son por motivos que resultan "simpáticos", aceptables. Personalmente, a Little Billy y a su camarilla les está bien empleado; en cuanto a los que agredieron a la mujer, pues parecido. Sólo que en esos casos sus canalladas les llevan a la muerte y en el caso de Wlliam Munny sus crímenes le sacan de la miseria. Extraño mundo, sí.
