@@SirHairless great news! I can't wait. More than any vocal prowess, I think that performance is testament to his ability to deal with pressure and nerves. How to handle it calmly. It was no doubt unnerving, because he would have felt the weight of responsibility.

Lara wrote the lyrics on the old classic music composition ""Adagio"" in English and in Italian. Lara writes (and sings herself) often lyrics of her songs in 2 or 3 different languages. She speaks fluent 4 languages and sings in 12 . I myself, prefer the Italian version of Adagio. Italian is a more colored language. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIN_rrOEnrPIm7A.html Lara Fabian, a singer with a very beautiful, very strong but always velvety voice in all her 4.2 octave range.. Like you say, the voice of Lara looks very similar with the voice of Celine, only sings Lara with more emotions and passion. Lara is known for her incomparable breath control, the ""Belgian power house"", the ""ring"" Lara and Celine where in the same record company, Sony. The team behind Celine has done every effort to ruin the career of Lara Fabian in the US, and they succeeded. After that disappointment, Lara turned her career toe Canada, France, Europ and even on east Europ and Lara is very known in Russia

Lara speaks Italian, her first language, as well as French, Spanish, Sicilian, English, all fluently and some Flemish. Lara is Italian and Belgium....Mother was born In Sicily, and father was born in Brussels. Lara is a full lyric soprano and has a vocal range that spans 3 octaves...C3 to G5. Her Italian version of Adagio is amazing. Dimash's version of Adagio is also amazing, although his English was a little rough when he was on the Singer, but it still was amazing. Other reactors who have reacted to both Dimash and Lara say they can see her mannerisms in his. As for not knowing Lara, it's just like, not knowing Dimash. Amazing singers not being recognized. But Lara did have a hit or two in America back in the late 1990's and early 2000's. I am so excited to see her in Budapest. I get to see Lara and Dimash in the same week. More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She just moved back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?). She became very famous in Quebec and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio) ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania. She is about to release a new album and kick off another tour that will visit eastern europe in april 2024 (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye), then several locations in Canada in june 2024 and, after some rest and a few TV Shows, France sometime in 2025. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

I am an 82 year old retired musician, singer, songwriter, performer, and teacher who appreciates your concise, edifying in both the technical aspects of a piece of music and the performance of it while also commenting about the emotional aspects of the performance. Your use of short supportive examples is also a wonderful part of your presentation. Having been retired ("retiring" from music is of course never done.) for many years has given me the opportunity to see many people who do a "reaction" to singers as well as to discover artists like Lara Fabian and Dimash, and I do believe you are the best I've been fortunate enough to have seen. The final moments of this song reveal, I think, what Lara's superpower is: breath management. Any vocal teacher will tell you how important it is to master your breathing. Lara's like the MCUs Steve Rogers--- "I can hold this note all day." And the end of this song when she exhales she is showing that she still had so much more in her tank. She ends a note precisely when and how she wants to and not before. No trailing off, no cracking or wheezing. No, no, no. You should definitely check out Je Suis Malade. You will not only see her impressive breath management but also a performance so emersive and emotional that you are instantly tranported into the story of the song with her. It is a masterpiece.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKWjtY-Ef6-8j5c.html Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version: kzread.info/dash/bejne/o5pr2sWGfpC6iaw.html Or you can check her recent excellent renditions: - in Paris early october 2022 kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKmgydqCXZvgmpc.html - In Tbilissi Georgia in april 2023 kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIGIkpaYnbualKg.htmlsi=jzIpgs_LdgX1ZjSV

Student in Brussel and moved to Canada and is still Canadian. Preforms still and is a loved tv star in France and Canada. Speaks many languages and sings them fluendly. Love her . I love being able to see and hear videos like yours, as unfortunately there are very few content creators who contribute something to the work of the artists. As I say, this is not your case, I take advantage of each of your videos to learn a little more about how the songs are composed. In the case of Lara, it must be said that unfortunately she is a very underrated artist, especially in the USA, which makes her international repercussion less than that of other artists, even being, in my opinion, better than many of them. A curiosity, if you want to listen to something more of her, always do it live, because she is infinitely better than in her records; she is not a singer, she is a performer, and in this section I have to say that she is the best I have ever seen in my life. Thank you very much again, and keep sharing your knowlege with all of us.

Yes, Adagio is pronounced correctly in italian as she has says. Lara is the most fascinating female performer i have ever heard in my life... and I have heard millions of voices for over 50 years. There are two vocalists that for me, are the best performers, best interpreters, best communicators, within their own personal techniques and ranges... Lara Fabian of course in the case of female voices, and Cakra Khan (an Indonesian artist) male vocalist. I say this as a former 30+ year vocalist... anyone can sing and have amazing technique, but to connect at this depth? is a masterpiece. I encourage you to listen more of Lara, such as "Je suis malade, Je t'aime (one of her compositions), and You're not from here, among many others.

I love watching you discover all these great artists. To me, there is no best singer in the world. How can you rate something so emotional and subjective. Lara is a big star in Québec and has been for years but she comes from an era when big belting voices were revered (Whitney Houston, Celine Dion...). You are right in mentioning how straining it is for the voice and very hard to maintain when on tour or working in recording studios. It’s a lot and taxing. Anyway, I ramble. Thanks again. Yes, yes! You have discovered an absolute GEM! My favourite female vocalist. 💎 You *must* hear her “Je Suis Malade” but be sure to have English subtitles along with it. It’s sad too. Another epic yet sad one that you need to hear: “Je Táime: Live in Paris.” The audience completely surprised her during a very difficult time in her life. She’s not had an easy life, so the sadness that comes through in her voice is authentic and genuine. I’ve never heard someone come so close to the fine line between singing and weeping. Much respect.

Glad you made it to Lara. I think as you listen to more, you'll feel like she is one of the best singers out there. She has many great performances. Caruso, Broken Vow (Original), and Je Suis Melade are some of her more famous ones. You said you like emotional performances, well, Je Suis Melade from this same concert is one of the most emotional performances of a song by any artist I've ever seen. Still gives me chills listening to it after many, many times. Be sure to watch a few seconds past the end of the song on that one. I only discovered her about 2 years ago. Never tire of listening to her amazing voice. She's been touring again and there are some recordings of recent performances out there. She can still sing beautifully. Oh and Dimash has a version of Adagio from the Chinese singing competition. Pretty sure you'll enjoy that one too. I'd love to hear him sing it now.

👉For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be. 'Adagio in g minor' - today, known as one of the most popular compositions of classical music; composed of alleged fragments of Tomaso Albinoni's; in 1958, joined together by Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer). Musicologists are still debating whether or not it is based on fragments by Albinoni. Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Later, Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire.

👉 Lara Fabian (Pronounced: Lah-rah, Fah-bee-yahn) *1970, is a world famous Belgian-Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, actress and producer. She is Belgian but also has Italian roots (her mother is from Sicily). She grew up in both countries and therefore speaks both French and Italian as her mother tongue. She was classically trained in singing, piano and song composition for 10 years (from 8 to 18) at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. To this day she has singing lessons and trains several times a week. She started her career in Canada in the early 1990s. She now lives in Montreal and also has Canadian citizenship. She is fluent in 4 languages (French, Italian, English, Spanish) and has sung in a total of 12 languages. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide as of September 2017 and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. In 2000, Lara launched her triumphal procession in the US, but a falling out with Sony over her artistic direction and the will of Celine Dion's management to block her path to the US thwarted that plan. She therefore focused on Europe again and had great success there, expanding her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her many years of collaboration with Igor Krutoy. She's also a star in Brazilia. Many of their songs are now classics and are covered by other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban... The US is now rediscovering her through her covers of Lara Fabian songs. She is Dimash's idol. He has covered many of her songs. She also wrote the lyrics to his song 'Your Love'. and they shared the stage and performed Ti Amo Cosi (composed by Igor Krutoy) along with Aida Garafulina: Ti Amo Cosi - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ipWFqMiqc5bSnrg.html Lara is one of the best singers in the world, for me the most soulful singer! Lara was born in Belgium, moved with her mom to Italy at a young age. There she lived with her Mother & Grandmother. Lara, was very close with both of them. Lara describes herself as very Italian & very North American. She is now a Naturalized Citizen of Canada who live in Que Bec. She wrote both English & Italian Lyrics for this song. She sings in 12 languages, she speaks in 7 languages; however, she only claim’s to be fluent in 4 languages. Personally, I think a better way to describe her linguistic skills would be 4 languages without a foreign accent. Lara’s songs were on the “EuroPop Rock Charts”. ❤️✌🏼from the U.S. 🇺🇸

Thank you for yet another superb reaction sir! You bring an extra dimension to songs and their enjoyment! Yes - what a voice Lara has, and presence, and talent! People mention her other songs like Je Suis Malade - I still love the Dalida version (written by Alice Dona & Serge Lama). Dalida sang it in 1973 and made it her own - so raw and emotive especially as she later committed suicide. Thank you again for a fantastic informative and emotional analysis - can't wait for the next one! xx

Lara Fabian has one of the most beautiful, powerful, pure voices in the world with a pure soul - one of the most powerful, emotional performances is Lara singing Je 'T'aime' in Paris in 2001. Also check out JE SUIS MALADE and BROKEN VOW. Dimash has performed with Lara at Igor Krutoy's birthday celebration telecast several years ago- she also speaks 4 or 5 languages fluently. You have the corect pronunciation of her name

Please listen also to je t’aime, she is giving this concert after losing a loved one and her relationship ended badly. The audience spoke with the pianist to hold on with the music. At the beginning the audience shouting to her, that she’s does not must sing but they begin to sing for her. To support her. She sings je t’aime (i love you) and the audience is singing to her on t’aime (we love you). This song breaks me every time. Also watch the song requime pour un fou with johnny halliday and lara fabian, please watch it with subtitles, because it is soooooo magical

Lara is not only the best singer of all times, but also a brilliant composer and pianist. She speaks 4 languages fluently. Please much more Lara. Je suis malade from same concert is a must. She is classically trained.

Great reaction! I'd love to see you react to Lara's "Je suis malade" from the same concert. It's one of the greatest live performances that I've ever seen in my life and it brings chills to me every time no matter how many times I see it. The lyrics are amazing and Lara does an incredible job bringing them to life.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, there's too many to go through, but this song is so passionate because it comes from her soul. On the surface it sounds like a love song to a person, but listen closer and you hear a love song to Adagio, as the god of inspiration, begging "him" to never abandon her as a songwriter. It expresses the ethereal, unknown and uncontrollable link to powers beyond ourselves that create music and lyrics, and the fear that it could abandon us at any time. This is how important being a songwriter is to her. She calls herself a "songwriter with a voice". This is why, for me, no cover can compare to her performance of it. Her own DNA is in every word and every note. Musically it's just a brilliant piece of work that continues to impress me no matter how many times I hear it. Reworking a classical piece of music to express her feelings about being a songwriter and musician is a testament to her musical brilliance. Anyhoo, I came here from your Je Suis Malade réaction, and you have officially become one of my favorite Lara reactors, and it's a high bar!

Lara is originally Belgian-Sicilian. that's why her Italian in Caruso is so perfect. She moved to Canada. Also listen to Floor Jansen's Adagio, she and Lara will drain you emotionally.🎶🎶🤟🏻🤟🏻

Dude as soon as you said "I love emotional performances," before a Lara Fabian song I knew you were in for a treat, lol. Lara is probably the most emotionally driven singer on the planet. I'm sure you're going to be hooked.
