I have a feeling it has some filtering, either by the game or smth. In my memory they didn't sound so crappy, but I don't have proof so y'all gotta check older videos for that for example, maybe the new voicelines have a filter on that applies to the audio?

There was a brief period of time when guns used to sound realistic (like you can hear on tv news or videos and IRL, they sound just like small or large explosions (which they essentially are) ). It was most noticeable when a low tier german halftrack 37mm AA was firing. It was somewhere after first half of 2022. Now gaijin is just changing sounds for the sake of it, to seem like they are "constantly improving" the game

I remember listening to I think Copsi (It was during a livestream by DEFYN showing off the devserver when the Viggen was released and it definitely wasn't him) going into a brief rant about how Gaijin keeps murdering the firing noise of the M61 Vulcan (As someone who has pretty much every US top tier jet, I can see where he was coming from).

The issue is mics peak irl a ton and the guns in game are designed to sound as if your right next to them in person rather than through a speaker via a recording

The memories of using the IS-2 and dueling Tiger II's at range to see who could hit the others turret cheek first and using that good reverse speed after each shot while Panthers and T-34-85's and T-44's fought for the caps. So simple yet I miss it so much (until I remember how broken OP aircraft bombs and rockets used to be).

Should be showcasing the old 122 sound and that iconic "PING". that, and times before volumetric update takes me back to countless hours using IS-2 grinding soviet rushing to get T-10M which was the top tier back then

this made me think about old day that i used to play 8-10hrs a day

The old 128 was crisp

Sweet sound of nostalgia Also you should check the ammo model on the Tiger II (H) which is slightly bigger than the other Tiger IIs

What I actually enjoyed most about the old sounds was, it was better suited for the "e-sports" ready path they wanted to go down. Every single gun sounded different, a 100mm from the russians sounded different to the 122 with the bell sound etc, which nowadays isn't the case so it's harder to tell what is around the area where you heard a shot.

The problem with Sound Guy is that he doesn't know when to leave stuff alone. MGs are improved, but main gun both interior and exterior was much better.

As someone who has played tanks since literally day one, i do not miss the German machine gun sound, god how much it peakes. The "got it" "next target" and, "yes, a hit" are very nostalgic though

man this sounds so much better from scope view than what we have today, now every tank gun shooting from scope view sounds like a very bad door slam ...its pathetic and nowhere near realistic
