What do you think? I think the power module/hydrolic stuff is a bit to much, I personally believe that for both they should still be able to turn but very slowly as I'd imagine that tank designs allow for that. Also, the hydrolics are based on a pull pull (low pressure)design, not a pressure design (high pressure) to move the turret so they should not explode or cause great fires. The power module, on the other hand, should absolutely cause fires and arc burns. Also, as for the autoloader, it should vary for some tanks like the early french auto loaders in that when the auto loader is off some should be able to get the loader to start loading the round while on others like the 2s38 they should not
Nice, I hope Gaijin does helicopters next. Those things have more empty space than tanks and still perform perfectly fine at launching missiles with laser/ccip after taking a hit to the face.

No. Losing leopards to hydro fire is realistic and intended behaviour
if theyre gonna add even more ways for your tank to be set on fire then they really need to add a way to refill your fpe.

I feel that Power Electronics/Hydraulic Traverse should not kill the horizontal and vertical traverse on case by case basis since quite a few vehicles had/have manual traverse back-ups

Agreed Maybe the vehicles with remote turrets don't, but afaik most, if not all, vehicles with crewed turrets would have backup manual traverse

Yup For most tanks of the WW2 era the manual traverse was the main method, and the powered assist was only used for rough aiming at large angles of movement

In fact, for most tanks (at least those of WW2 era), losing the power traverse should not affect the vertical traverse at all. And it should just slow down the horizontal traverse, in the same way running out of battery does.

think its more for gameplay, theres so many times when you hit a tank and it just hits nothing important and you lose the fight, so they are adding components that mean if you pen a tank it will always do something

Wait until they reimplement the actual propability of break downs so your tracks or stuff would just randomly break like in irl and ofc the problems of individual tanks will be taken into the consideration like if it had tracks that would fall out every 100 m so would happen in wt. I dont think they ever impemented it into wt but they tested it out.

Manual reload takes on average 30 seconds so by the time u reload the repair is already done

@@guvyygvuhh298 that would only be the case if you directly repair it after getting hit but that usually isnt realy advisable since you should only repair after driving away first so it would still make sense to be able to slowly reload without autoloader
If Hydraulic pump fails, Shouldn't the crew switch to manual mode were they have to crank the turret but slower?

@@snepping1885 Yeah but hitting the unmanned turret with APFSDS may actually do something now to its fighting capability now unlike previously where they can just continuously tank hits while hulldown and keep firing. Fortunately alot of 2S38 players are total idiots (typical wallet warriors) but the actually intelligent ones are somewhat jarring to fight against

Liking almost all of these mechanics, but with addational modules that can be set on fire I personally feel like Tanks should have 3 FPE and also be able to reload them on caps

3:04 there's a reason that tanks have manual back turret drives(or at least most ww2 tanks do, IDK about MBTs, it would be dumb it they don't... even if it's only gives, like 1 degree a second or so of travers rate, those new tank turrets are are really heavy)

I think Leopard 2s don't have those. At least when the Russians posed the captured one in the Patriot park, they had to adjust the gun position with a crane and a concrete slab because the power was busted

@@haroldotrotter9148it is not since a long time... All ammunition in the game behaves unrealistic. Crews are unrealistic. Pen is in many cases contrary to physical laws. and much more. The game needs to be fun, realism is just an aspect and needs to take a backseat to realism. WT is not a simulator. It is closer to an FPS
Gajin should also either remove optics or have them affect performance as well. Like, make the destruction of driver's optics blur the vision in third person and gunner's optics make the scope either unusable or scuffed/blurry.

Maybe also remove the reticle, both in first and third person, if your optics are damaged? You could also force it your tank to use the commander viewpoint
Placing my bets that itll take 3 years before we see any non-modern tanks get more modules
We thought its gonna be cool, but now i see how these new ways to deal damage gonna encourage even rattier and stonelike gameplay. Just like irl - you got hit even once you're most likely out of combat
a much needed change considering that sometimes you penertrate someone and end up doing no damage (and usually you get killed for that). Have the devs said anything regarding this same module depth (?) coming for air vehicles including heli's? i think that would solve lots of issues (heli's eating 120mm apfsds or for planes 20mm cannon rounds doing absolutely nothing)
I'm a big fan of the expanded DM. As a HESH enjoyer I wish that destroying optics did more though.

yeah, maybe do what squad does, when you scope in theres like a crack effect on your lens, and for thermals and nvgs theres more noise and static effects that'll be cool
I feel that after this, they should add more damage modules on the HUD. Some new parts are definitely gonna be more crucial, especially now that they will affect more parts of the vehicles.

We also need a way to prioritize the repair of certain things instead of just “fix it”. I don’t want to sit without my gun for 45 seconds because I’m waiting on my commander optics to be fixed first
Looking forward to WW2 tanks having some of these. Though, I wish the power systems were better incorporated with the battery mechanic! Doesn't make sense that the power system being out will disable rotation and having 0 charge won't.

Instead of just making spalling wider, we now have repair simulator. Nice
While i absolutely welcome more details, in current state it needs more work before it gets good to be implemented. Turret power shouldnt immediately kill both drives, instead it should work the same way as it currently does when your engine is off and battery ran out - slow manual controls. Batteries being damaged but engine perfectly fine also shouldnt entirely kill electric parts, just make them work, say, half efficiency. Also, damaged autoloader should still allow manual reloading in certain vehicles. Obviously enough something like 2S38 cant reload manually but im pretty sure Leclerc or Type 90 should be able to, even if much slower

FCS add on armor package for the 2S38 haha the fuel tank wasn't good enough.
The game should add auxiliary systems for tanks like the Leopard or the Abrams, which have manual mechanisms to move the turret. It is very interesting how the game progresses, almost approaching a simulator. I have a doubt if they add auxiliary power modules like the Abrams, which physically has another combustion engine that serves as a generator that is located in the rear of the turret. It was originally added to save fuel when the main engine is not working. Greetings from Mexico, they make very good videos.

Ground forces: Everything can be destroyed and repaired. Air: Nothing can be repaired but most things also can’t be damaged because they are not modeled.
Can you do more tests for auto loading tanks? I want to see how much spall damage does against those areas or you can still one shot those areas. Moslty for the mbts I think it will help to see if the normal way of shooting weak points stay the same.

There already is 1 free FPE, but yeah Parts should be easier to research on high rank vehicles
i feel like at one point they're also gonna add a whole ass repair menu so we can pick which part to repair first, could be bad or good depends on how they implemented it
It would be nice if we had a wheel cycle to select what to prioritize repairs first

I think that, when the driver control is damaged/destroyed should have the same effects that when in ships the bridge is destroyed, the than should keep moving or turning without control until you turn off the engine engine

on tanks that have blowout panels like the abrams and leopard 2's, they have a red panel in the xray view in the hanger, and if they're broken they don't protect the crew, however it'd doesn't effect reload unless ammo is destroyed

@@jthecwoffle The door is automatic so it's not manually open usually, so there should be hydraulic/electric drive which can be damaged , about how this protection works in the game : it doesn't work how it's supposed to work I have tons of moments when my round do penetrate armour--->door--->ammo and guess what nothing happened not even blow panels get triggered ( sometimes they do ) which also wrong tank should be destroyed if that door damaged and ammo got hit , so I guess for at least balance purposes there should be something what affects this door since we can damage autoloader but can't damage automatic door

It would be interesting, in my opinion, if there was a "super" delay in the controls, as if the driver was having big problems just to make the tank move where you want it.
When is the update coming out?
I wonder how the autoloader thing is going to affect vehicles with assisted loading like the Object 120
autoloaders having a damage model is such a fucking huge w that makes not having one not as big as a deal now
So a month in and it turns out the autoloader is actually just extra armor against auto cannon vehicles because if that area is targeted by a main cannon vehicle it's just dead anyway, and it absolutely just eats any auto cannon spall. Something that was supposed to be a net nerf for everyone ends up being a sneak buff to Russian vehicles.
This is only for top tier tanks right?

The autoloader module is the best It just unfair how loader can be killed while autoloader can't be damaged at all Also does it still have similar mechanic as human loader where at certain point if you loader killed while reload nearly finished, instead reload all over again it just stop at half time? Does the autoloader reload completely canceled if autoloader module broken?
Turret ring and powered traverse unit should be separate and still allow you to use manual traverse controls unless those are also broken. Most tanks have manual backups. It would be horribly slow but better than nothing.

Lmao in what skill issue world are you living in? Russian mbt's are the easiest to kill by far. Hit a fuel tank boom it exploads hit its lfp boom might expload depending on how low or high. Hit right under the gun breach you nuke the crew w spalling same w drivers hatch. N anything from the side will send it to space too even t90m. Its clear too me you just dont know how to shoot tanks

Lower Armor plate for both China/USSR and they do BOOM in 99% of the time head-on, lol. Had Nuke, 8/9 were oneshots like this. My brother in Christ, You choose to shoot randomly somewhere at the enemy and expect any results. The damage sucks for low caliber APFSDS, yes, but honestly it sucks for Leopard's more. 3 shoots for Sweden 40mm usually enough, but leopard? FFS, shooting it's side fuel tank completely DESTROYS shell. Had full mag dumped to it's side with literally zero effect. Every Bias = skill issue

I hope not, i can't take my T-72 having 7.1 seconds of reload while others like abrams have 5 seconds, leclerc 5 seconds, leopard 6 seconds, type 10 4 seconds
so now they should add crew loader replacement system so the autoloader damage dont be too much nerf fro vechicles with it

I think you should be able to still reload in some vehicles whet the auto loader is broken it should make the reload like two times slower

Everyone saying 2S38 was indestructible when you could only hit the turret. Well apart from that not being true, this fuckin shit can't even shoot most of the times without showing half the hull, so this change is only for those crying non-stop in forums and is going to make playing this thing a repair festival with no reward. Lets see if they implement this in vehicles that clearly need this system like Strikers, CV, 2S Series, etc.
