brilliant detailed video as always mate, i have a question, the lip that runs up from the aprons on the body (what the rubber seals wedge onto and what the decklid/front hood seal onto) have all been bashed up on my 61 that im restoring, have you got any suggestions for this? i really couldt think of anything, and i dont just wanna hammer than back to look straight. Cheers

+Josh Briggs They sell those seal channels. You have to weld them on.

Can I install the earlier apron on my 1969 and mount the early hood? What about the rear deck lid with the earlier apron?

I am saving a 66 baja bug(the one in my profile picture) and restoring it back to original frnders and aprins. Would you be able to reply with a link to a correct original image of a 1966 beetle dash. Thanks.

Mine fit good but does not have that hole on left like the one on tbe right where the hood release rod runs threw.

For 1967, the apron is different, since the engine cover is flat at the bottom instead of round. Same thing with the hood.

ive got a question, can you not use the 65 66 rear apron and use a the later bolt on latch with an early decklid?

You can use those aprons, but if you want to use the "T" handle, you would need the correct catch that needs to be welded on the apron to use with the earlier decklid. If you use the bolt on catch like in 65-66, you would need to go with the later decklid that had the push button latch.

you're better of buying online and welding it yourself or a professional welder.

+BLT buying it online is no problem, I don't know how to weld and don't know any one in my area that works of bugs to weld this piece.

just get a good welder to do that job. if he has a good reputation with cars especially older ones he should be able to take care of the bugs metal panels.
