Classic Stossel: Campaign Moments and Message

What goes on behind the scenes of a presidential campaign?
---
Don't miss a video from Stossel TV, sign up here: johnstossel.ac...
---
Veteran campaigners like Bob Beckel, Mark McKinnon and Patti Solis Doyle share their war stories and reveal what really happens inside campaigns. They tell Stossel how campaigns try to micromanage the “message”, telling the story that THEY want told. Campaigns are often won and lost based on “moments” the public remembers.
A Classic Stossel from 2012.

But, I do say the following; -I'm voting for the First Amendment and freedom of speech. -I'm voting for the Second Amendment and my right to defend my life and my family. -I'm voting for the next Supreme Court Justice to protect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. -I’m voting for the continued growth of my retirement 401K and the stock market. -I’m voting for a return of our troops from foreign countries and the end to America’s involvement in foreign conflicts. -I'm voting for the Electoral College & the Republic in which we live. -I'm voting for the Police to be respected and to ensure Law & Order. -I’m voting for the continued appointment of Federal Judges who respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. -I’m voting for our jobs to remain in America and not be outsourced all over again to China, Mexico and other foreign countries. -I’m voting for secure borders and legal immigration. -I'm voting for the Military & the Veterans who fought for this Country who gave the American people their freedoms. -I'mvoting for the unborn babies that have a right to live. -I’m voting for continued peace progress in the middle east and in support of Israel. -I’m voting to fight against human/child trafficking. -I’m voting for Freedom of Religion. -I'm voting for the American Flag that is disrespected by the Democratic Party. -I'm voting for the right to speak my opinion & not be censored. -I'm voting for my children and my grandchildren to ensure their freedoms and their future. -I’m not voting for anything that is funded by George Soros. -I'm not just voting for one person, I'm voting for the future of my Country. -What are YOU voting for???

I don't have as much respect for voters who vote based on emotion as much a voters who base their vote on facts and the logic of defending the US Constitution. I reject all attempts to weakening the US Constitution. The purpose of the US Consitution is to maintain political power with the private sector (We The People). "Domestic Enemies" weaken it through regulation, taxation, and social policy that create dependents on the government. These actions transfer power away from us and over to the government. Through deregulation, tax cuts, border security, prison reform, addressing unfair world trade, restructuring the VA, the appointment of judges who do not legislate from the bench, and exposing the two-teared double standard of justice by the FBI, DOJ, CIA, and mainstream media, President Trump has demonstrated the greatest defense and strengthening of our Constitution in our lifetime.

Probably one of Trump's greatest strengths is he is willing to talk. He was willing to talk with the Taliban. He was willing to talk with North Korea. Even with the partisan bickering, he is willing to talk with Democrats. We almost went into a hot war with North Korea because the Obama Administration wouldn't talk. I wonder what a Biden Presidency will be like when he won't talk with Republicans and hope they get voted out in the next election?

Wasn’t Bob Beckel the guy who in 2016 said that this presidential race is over for Donald Trump, that Trump has nowhere to go and should drop out of the race?

I remember the John Kerry video, but I felt the picture of him on his hands and knees in the "space suit" at NASA hurt him more than windsurfing. I also remember "the moment" or "moments" Dukakis lost in '88. One was when he did the photo op in a tank and wore the helmet, and the other was when he said he did not approve of the death penalty even if his wife was raped and murdered.
