I like that version of I Want To Hold Your Hand. Reminds of The Carpenters.
Like you Larry, I love Temporary Secretary. It's typical McCartney telling a story about an everyday person doing an everyday job. In my opinion, he is the best at doing this.
“A Hard Road” is a very recent rediscovery of mine after scores of years of having Never Say Die (just for completist’s sake). I can’t believe I had never treasured this keepsake 😫😕
36 seconds in and I was smiling. Thank you!
Temporary Secretary was ahead of its time. A Hard Road is an awesome song. Had it With You, to me, was the best song on Dirty Work. I think the most hated Beatles' song is Mr. Moonlight, but I love every song in their catalog. Sometimes bad word of mouth creates a negative momentum and people hate a song without bothering to listen.

Robert Saul I agree with your final thought there. The songs that come to mind for me, relating to this topic, are I’ll Cry Instead and Run for your Life. Both of those songs are among my favorites on their respective album. It just blows my mind how people hear something around and then lose all objectivity. Like sheep.
Wonderful Christmas Time and Goodnight Tonight (Paul) and I am a McCartney fan
Cool Especially like when you mention Saabath btw the best thing about those 2 albums is Heaven and Hell comes after. Enough said.
I thought you would choose "Bugs" from Pearl Jam - I think it's a ridiculous song. "Wild Honey Pie" by The Beatles is actually quite good. I think it has a very good catchy melody but it should have been made as a real song and not just a jam. It could have been one of the best songs of the album with some effort. This video is a good idea. Very often fans choose strange, unique songs as their least favorites.
Once I had and argument with a friend of mine who hated The Beatles and who (as usual) only had a bunch of stereotypes about their songs being lame and dumb without actually never listening to their amazing work. So I challenged him to chose any random song of the White Album to be surprised of their immense versatility and talent. He pressed Play and the first song was Ob La Di Ob La Da 🤦🏻♂️. He said “I rest my case”, and left the room XD Why Paul... Why?
I watched the Sparks one on YT some time ago, but a slow Beatles track turned into a more fun and sparkling one would have interested me more to keep on listening to. Disco Mystic was on my Lou Reed playlist, as We're All Water on the Ono one. The others not, don't hate them but don't care for them either, not being a "true fan" anyway. Except for maybe the Doors, as most of their first six albums is on the playlist. But I don't hate those few others, can't even recall them.
i don’t know about the rest of you in the comments , but personally temporary secretary is my favorite song from the paul mccartney II album
A Hard Road by Sabbath is sooooo underrated!

That's my second favorite song off "Never Say Die!" after the title track.
Noisy boys are happy boys is a Sparks song that I like on the only Sparks album that can actually be quoted as bad Terminal Jive. Well, at least there is a good tune. Sometime in New York City is excellent. I don't know why everybody decry it.
Great list, but more doors please. I love the doors songs reviews :)
Pronounced Shaymus Larry. Great video as usual mate.
I really don’t see any redeeming qualities in temporary secretary or coming up. Also Maxwells silver hammer, and ebony and ivory I really can’t take either.

McCartney II has always been a favourite of mine and it was really cool that once I saw Paul play Temporary Secretary live - which gets me thinking - it’s not often that major artists play incredibly obscure songs, certainly at arena gigs. What would be your dream McCartney live setlist?

Temporary secretary is one of those songs that when I hear it, it stays stuck in my head for days.
I hate Almost Cut My Hair or any other David Crosby song from my Byrds albums.
I believe I suggested this kind of video to you some time back so I like to think the thought had been floating around in your subconscious, just like when I mentioned Van Morrison..... although I also mentioned Stone Temple Pilots at the same time ☺️ I suppose disliking songs from favourite artists is relative: I said Do It by the Doors is bad but I meant compared to their other songs and mostly because it feels like an unfinished song.
Since it was mentioned so much, I listened to Paul's "Temporary Secretary". There seemed to be a nice melody in there somewhere but it was buried beneath electronic nonsense and mangled vocals. I can see why fans would hate it.
I HATE The Sweetest thing and Angel of Harlem by U2. 😡 Dance into the light by Phil Collins. 😟 Finally 'Shadow on the wall" by Mike Oldfield, "Eat the Music" by Kate Bush, and "Passengers" by Elton John. Why oh why oh why do these awful songs exist?
🇺🇸Never heard of that singer. Looking forward to the video. 🇨🇦
Another interesting video, Larry. Some bad songs by artists I like: Neil Diamond - The Pot Smoker's Song Cheap Trick - Ghost Town (co-written by Diane Warren, no surprise) The Doors - Do It
My son was listening to some music this morning and I asked him who it was: Billie Eilsh. It sounded ok. He doesn't mind some Justin Beiber and Kanye West.
In a Christmas Theme. I hate “A Wonderful Christmas Time” . I cringe when I hear it. I love, love Paul but I have to include “Goodnight Tonight” . 😂. I hate saying I hate anything by any Beatle, but come on let’s be honest. It does suck.

Carl Adams yes! Couldn’t agree more. My hand breaks the sound barrier as soon as I hear those opening notes as I turn it off.
Do you like anything other than "classic rock" ?

Yes..... Johnny Cash, Canned Heat, Randy Newman, Sex Pistols, Roger Miller, Yoko Ono...........................etc. etc..etc..
I have to admit Larry that I'm one of those that's not a big fan of Temporary Secretary although I don't think it's Paul McCartney's worse ever song, that honour in my opinion goes to After The Ball which I feel is a total ripoff of the classic Christian hymn Amazing Grace, others by him like Bip Bop and Mumbo are at least a little bit of fun, also since it's close to Christmas and although I don't mind it my self my older brother can't stand Wonderful Christmas Time, what do you think of it? Bob.

After the ball is awesome. I think you need mental help. 😁😉
Wow. This is going to really mess with my Spotify algorithm. There is a lot of pretentious bad (to my ear) music on this list: U2, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Yoko & John, Zappa. The Sparks is a seriously funny cover. The Stones are just doing the blues again. Lou Reed is moving disco to rave, pretty cool. Queen is just too too cute. I get it, I love cats, but ew. Wild Honey Pie is not bad, but goofy fun. It’s Yellow Submarine I can do without. Temporary secretary is also goofy fun. For bad Paul, not even Loup (1st Indian On The Moon) tops my list. Wonderful Christmastime is just painful on so many levels. When the female black Lab next door is in heat, she howls away. I’ve taken to strumming a simple 3-chord blues along with her on my ukulele. I always figured I’m not the first, so thank you for Pink Floyd’s wonderful Seamus. (An Irish male first name, pronounced “Shame us”)
Sometimes you're too nice, Larry :) Everyone screws up sometimes - and no matter how talented a musician, can put out a lousy song now and then.
I enjoy most of billy Joel’s music. But I absolutely hate ‘a matter of trust. ‘. 😬
It's really sad anyone is still listening to classic rock.Classic rock is dead tired used up and overplayed
