I remember back in about 1982 I went to Amarillo Texas to see Petra in Concert with my new wife and baby. I was the pastor of a church in the panhandle of Oklahoma then. It was the best concert I have ever been to. Later I had 4 more kids and we formed a band and learned Petra's music and played it all around Oklahoma before we started writing our own stuff... I was the guitar player, my daughter Rebekah was the drummer, my son Jonathan played bass and my other son benjamin played keyboard and my daughter Rachel was usually the lead singer. Boy those were the days! (I also liked Resurrection Band.) We actually even got played on the radio a few times. I'm glad to see the petra guys are still living and healthy. God bless you Petra.

Absolutely great show! I excepted Christ at their concert in 1982. Love this lineup and the songs have stayed with me through these years. Loui is a great drummer and his drums sound perfect. Praise God!!!

I realize that it's common for many long standing bands in rock, metal and so on are doing reunions, new albums etc. But I gotta say how truly awesome, inspirational and uplifting it is to see bands like Petra, Stryper, Bloodgood back at it for the glory of God!

I love Petra! Christianity is to nobody’s surprise the largest religion on Earth and the largest religion in the world with over 2,000,000,000 Christians worldwide!

Pepi BG It's not just Greg X Volz, the original singer on vocals, but it's other original members like Louie Weaver on drums. Petra has a very long history. The good thing is that "classic" Petra doesn't go back to the very first and quite poor albums. There were albums like Petra, Come and Join Us, Washes Whiter Than and maybe more that were not good albums. That said Washes Whter Than is the best of the three that I mentioned. But if one goes back to the first Petra lp/tape with the desert photos you will find a very primitive and lousy sounding band. The Gregg X Volz years though established the band and they made a real strong band out of very humble beginnings. Try to check out Never Say Die, More Power To Ya, Not of This World and Beat The System. The last album, Beat The System though got a bit weird and crazy. And I'll also mention that Greg X Volz to me looks not much the way he once did. The guy was a kid back in the day and now he's middle aged and old.

This is the "REAL" Petra. The almost original band. Greg X. Volz, Louie Weaver, Bob Hartman, John Lowery and Mark Kelly. They started the Christian rock move and make it possible for Jon Schlitz and others to do what they do now. Bob Hartman is the only one that played in all the three lead singer changes Petra went through. This audio is not good at all.
