Haha, love the exhaust sounds pinched from the IOM TT Sounds Stories recordings, and not quite completely removing Murray Walkers commentary. 1974, but hearing Honda 6’s and MV 4’s from the 60’s.

I was at this and paid an extra 50p for pits access, walking round the pit looking at the mechanics working on the bikes from just a few feet away, one thing I noticed was the American teams had so much professionalism, everything was new and shiny, the tools from snap-on in huge brand new red cabinets the size of a wardrobe looked like a work of art, I would have one in my sitting room now, they all had corporate branded clothing that looked great, the promotion girls with them were from another planet, everything about the Americans said MONEY and lots of it, you could see they were serious and the British teams seemed as if it was still the 1950s, old dirty tools in knackered tool chests, they had cheap T-shirts on that looked crap compared to the American button down collar embroided short sleeved shirts, you could see America was a place of wealth and they didn't mind spending it, Agostini looked like a a skint privateer in his scuffed blue leathers and scrapped helmet with duct tape on it, Sheen was imitating the Americans in many ways, he knew there was money to be had but everyone needed to step up a few gears, and that's the story of British motorcycle manafctruing in a nut shell, living in the past and not noticing everyone talking over as they had a nap in the hedgrows of the British coutryside, Kenny Roberts raced so well that day it was a lesson to everyone there, Sheen in particular. you talk the talk, walk the walk but ts money that counts.
