maverick ....hunt.....Sheene...etc weren't afraid to speak their minds nowadays these racers only open their mouths to praise the team and thank the sponsors and only seem to speak when they're spoken to

Great rider, cracking record as a racer and when I chatted to him, seemed like a thoroughly decent bloke too. Knew his mind and he had to given the people he raced against. Inspired me to have a crack at racing and as such I owe him a lot!!!

Actually, come to think of it, he owes me a lot given the thousands of pounds I’ve poured into a number of fabulous but unsuccessful club racing years😆😆
