I did my 1981 280e the same when I got her.. shes inca red and with the satin black grill and lights plus I smoked the tail and indicators I think she looks great .check her out on my videos

Looks very good I think if you have a black body paint with black accents. Do you think you could get the same look with any other body colour using the same colour as the body colour to do the accents on the grill and light grills?

i am not sure about other colours as usually these things are paint in black, depends what body colour you have? but i suggest you to check on pinterest or some mb forums how are done, it's most safe way to compare and do it self later...

ebay, it's not original, china copy, price - 20 EUR

I think you spoiled the look. It was way better before with original colors. The Grey colur matches the black colour of the car. The orange or yellow signa colour also way better.
