FM Synthesis is the reason why Mega Drive/Genesis is my favourite retrogaming console nowadays. For me, you reached a whole new level with the review of this piece of gear, Mark! Music was the main reason because I was into videogames when I was a child, while today it's the most important reason of my life (along with old school videogames). Thank you so much, now I fu**in' need this!

I dig these videos! Music is such a huge part of gaming, and this synth looks incredibly fun! Nothing to something in as fast as you can imaging it.

This is great! Here I am, trying to decide what I want to do first - watch a video about classic video games, or watch a video about synthiszers - as I sure love to do both. Now here comes Mark saying: "Hey! I can save you the hassle of having to watch two different videos....IN THE FUTURE!!"

Why yes, I do like Classic Game Room, then more Classic Game Room. I feel like the music used at the start of this video better represents the content, it's a mix between Genesis/MegaDrive sounds, and Mark's affinity for composing his own techno-synth music. I think if he puts enough work into it, he could use the Sonicware Mega Synthesis to make himself a ClassicGameRoom original main theme. If he won't or can't use the classic Flock of Cowboys, perhaps a new track which invokes the feeling of that track, but an original composition.

This is, of course, the next logical leap in Mark's musical evolution. If only Mark was one of the guys that was producing themes for the Genesis back in the 90's. Just imagine how things would have been different if the lazy developers that churned out crappy GEMs driver themes would have just hired Mark. 🍻 CHEERS!

It has an amazing, distinctive sound, but shouldn't we give _most_ of the credit to Yamaha, rather than Sega, as the console just combined a Yamaha chip (commonly found in keyboards) with the "legacy" kit needed for the Master System? Sega made a great choice in selecting that chip, but there was nothing unique about the Genesis / Mega Drive sound... aside from what the GEMS interface brought to music composition.
