Classic Game Room - ATARI JAGUAR console review!
Atari Jaguar review! classicgameroom.com/vaultpages...
Classic Game Room reviews the ATARI JAGUAR video game console!! The 64-bit Atari Jaguar does what Nintendon't. It plays Kasumi Ninja!! Atari's stylish 64-bit game system had potential but suffered from a poor launch date and awful game library..

Atari got body slammed by Nintendo, shot in the head by Sega, its corpse defiled by Sony, and finally got cut to pieces by Microsofts Energy Sword. All in all, a pretty bad 30 years for Atari.
Atari Jaguar "It actually works"
I remember seeing this console in Woolworth's for £20 when I was 15..you could sell them for £200 each on ebay, mint in box
By bad marketing, you mean the "Do The Math!" slogan, right?
Ah Yes, the Jaguar, the system that single handedly killed Atari in the console wars. I will say it does have decent games like Tempest 2000, Alien vs. Predator, Attack of the Mutant Penguins. Even though I never played them.
This console is stupid expensive now. Glad I picked one up. Missed opportunity by Atari. Great marketing. “Do the math” “64 bit” wasn’t even a true 64 bit machine. Just 2 32 bit processors.
How is this the 3rd oldest atari jaguar video on KZread. Did no one care till 2014
I had a friend who had one of these.. Remember watching him play Doom on it. Needless to say, it was the only jaguar of the neighbourhood :D
I loved the jag back in 1993 and still play it today its very underrated ❤️
Bring back plastic game room!
its nice to see the old cgr footage. Much more from the archives please!
I would actually like to see a review for the Apple Bandai Pippin.
Just bring Dave back for just ONE review. PLEASE it's what we all want!
Atari Jaguar was awesome , Atari is back with the new Atari VCS
I have a Jaguar, and I actually kind of like it. In regards to the question, "Was it a bad system?" I think you need to define what makes a good system. As a piece of hardware, I think it was actually quite good. It came out about halfway between SNES and PS1. If you look at games like Alien vs Predator, Battlemorph, and Rayman, I think it looks pretty good for being half way between those system. But then there's the other way to look at a system's value. Was it a good deal for the customers that bought them? I hate to say it, but no. Atari was nearly bankrupt and no one else put much effort into developing for it. So despite having good hardware, the very limited number of games were mostly shoddy uninspired shovel ware. If you liked button mashing arcade games, it did have some decent games in those genres, but there was very little that reflected the direction games were taking on the PS1 or N64.
Loved the Flashback to the Game Room
I had my Jag since launch. I was a huge Atari fanboy and defended the system as much as I could. I eventually got the ps1 in 96 and n64 in 97.
I remember seeing adverts for the Jaguar in Hyper game magazine when it was released but I never saw any in the shops etc. Come to think of it I have never seen one at all to date.
There is a cd addon. It's called the Atari jaguar cdi I believe. They're rare and hard to find in working condition. But if you can get your hands on a working one you should review it.
OMG! I can't believe I forgot about the old game room episodes!
