My mother made egg custard pies often when I was young. They were the best. She lost the recipe years ago. If I remember correctly she baked the crust and cooked the egg custard until thick and then poured it into the baked crust. My recipes I have found are baked. Thanks for sharing your recipe. My mother would have love these pies. I love this pie.

My Moms favorite! When i was a youngster,she would make it every week. She had butter in hers with nutmeg. Im 74 ❤

This is a wonderful recipe and you made it look so simple to put together. Great tip on incorporating the hot milk into the beaten egg. A person only has to do that once and then will never do it again. LOL. I really like the sugarless and gluten extras you have provided. Thank you for your time in this collaboration.
