My dad was always a devoted fan of letterman. He worked nights, though, so he’d set the vcr to record every show through the week. On Saturdays he would spend the day catching up. I was too young to understand all of the jokes or to recognize many of the guests, but my dad was always so joyful watching the show that I couldn’t resist being a part of it. Of course I grew to love Dave myself, as I grew up ... but when I watch these classic clips I am overwhelmed with memories of my dad. I miss him every day.

It's been a while since I've been there, but that was about the level. I just checked. The water level in March 2024 is 1075 feet. In the early 2000's, and about when David Letterman made this, it was about 1,200 feet. It's still quite low.

It's true that there is water seepage. If you take the dam tour, you'll see water seeping on the walls and on the floor in certain spots. They're confident the dam isn't going to burst. I hope not. At least while I'm there.
