The Daiquiri is a very old cocktail. It was created shortly after the Spanish-American War by an American mining engineer, whose mining operation was near the small town of Daiquiri, Cuba. It was also my grandmother's favorite summer cocktail

That’s the “story” but he probably just stole what the locals were doing and told everyone he created it. It’s the American way haha

@@DrinkInDigital yes im sure but i prefer to keep this one simple and refreshing as it was intended in the original recipe, i created a new drink every one likes using simple syrup,vodka or rum and top off with coconut juice with pulp included then freeze it till it becomes a slushy, i also added some tropical juice a bit like maybe pineapple ,its inspired drink from those jungle juice illegal ones sold in new york lol
Can you do a taste comparison between the Gimlet and the Daiquiri?
Not even of drinking age but i just enjoy watching people make things
Ernest Hemingway preferred his daiquiri double rum in it and being frozen.
I prefer Havana Club Anejo is that unusual? Or is it common to use darker rums? I prefer the flavour of Anejo over white rums.
Well shit I'm about to make this right now -- love the vid.

Long way: on the stove top.. short way: in a bottle with hot water and shake it like crazy... measure by weight ie. 1kg of water to 1kg of sugar... 😁

how to make the fresh lime juice ande sugar surup o can buy it?
@StevetheBartender_

You can squeeze the limes fresh and the sugar syrup is a 1:1 (by weight) of sugar and water heated on the stove top... Here is a detailed guide: cocktailkit.com.au/how-to-make-sugar-syrup/
Daiquiri is my favorite. I prefer to use a half an Oz of malibu as my sweetener
Can I use lime juice like the yellow lime liqueur juice for this ? Or does it have to be fresh lime juice

There is a story behind this England sailor came to know about disease scurvy due to vit c deficiency but no one had knowledge so one scientist made statement of eating lemon and oranges So sailor use to drink lemon juice but the question came that u can not store them for long period as they spoil so sailor preserved the drink by adding rum sugar and water And we get this cocktail

Are you not supposed to double strain into a glass with no ice?
@StevetheBartender_
Жыл бұрын
Completely up to you. I pre fine strain my citrus juices and my large ice cubes tend not to shard so I mostly single strained in the past… lately I double strain these drinks though.
I think i made a mistake with my Daiquiri IT was to sour, i used a fresh lime. I also used a 2:1 simple syrup could that be the mistake.

Too much sugar to my taste, but that’s personal. I woud say 60/30/somewhat less then 15 (and even then the sweetness is more than enough.) Sweetness tends to overpower freshness. For the rest: love your contributions of my favorite bartender!

There’s definitely a lot of variation in recipes - best to grab yourself a few classic cocktail books and read up... if you only grab one book then Gary Regan’s Joy of Mixology is great and features a lot of modern classic recipes (amzn.to/2JFQ1Ph) otherwise The Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock (amzn.to/2JrUpy2) has 750 recipes that are historically accurate... Otherwise you can just try a recipe and taste.. then alter it to how you like it and create balance with the flavours. Good luck!

Is it lazy to just add rum to some limeade and call it a day?
@zackc5973
4 ай бұрын
That's essentially all a daiquiri is, if your using homemade limeade. If you're using storebrought it won't have fresh ingredients and won't taste as good. Either way, it's you're drink, make it how you want.
thanks i think daiquiri using triple sec
