Thanks for the video. Was 10 years old when the cortina mk1 was launched. A lovely car. A choke to be manually pulled out in cold weather. Passed my driving test in a 1965 Ford Anglia Standard. It had the short grill in front. Only 3 gears forward. First gear was not synchronised. No electric windows, power steering or remote control. Kept going good little runner. The deluxe model came with the longer grill.

My first car in 1965 as a 17 year old and my 1955 beige consul waiting out side for me to pass my test.passed first time the greatest day of my life so far could not wait to get back from the test station in the driving school Austin A40,straighten the consul and off for the rest of the day,had it a year and on to a mk 2 zodiac both cars driven to fast but never broke down,petrol then four galls petrol for a pound motoring was so cheap in the sixties and best of all cheap insurance name driver on my mums insurance,allmy friends did it what a great time to be a teenager

I used to own a 1952 black zephyr six had it for 12 years from 1981 one of my favorite among my many classic 50s cars i now own a 59 minx.

As someone born in the late 90's, the 'Running in, please pass' is quite something to see. Hard to put into words, but, an exhalation of enthrallment and satisfaction, is the best I can describe my reaction to seeing it unveiled.

Ford the last major make in the US for IFS, possibly the first in the UK?

From the days when you picked up your newborn baby at the hospital and carried it home on your lap with no seatbelts. People would be horrified today if you told them that.
