It's possible for Nicole to be accused of sleeping with the entire football team (which she didn't, of course, because it was her pedo coach who spread the rumor), and when this happens, you can choose to run back home. Nicole tries to find safety in her mom, but her mom spurns her and tells her that she can either return to school or be kicked out of their home. Following their interaction, Nicole goes upstairs and hangs herself. It's messed up.

You know it was pretty funny to me that I first got into the game from a clip of Nicole getting shot for stealing a CD, thinking that the game is a dark comedy visual novel. And while that was true, playing it made me realize that Class of '09 has some really *really* heavy stuff that sort of just left me feeling like a husk once I got every ending.

People are books, puzzles, and pawns. In that order... That ending hits hard...

class of 09 is genuinely such an interesting and heartbreaking game, it not only just shows how 'irresponsible teenagers are' but how adults can be the same, they put such deep holes into the plot and give us such shocking lines that it makes us question "mature adults" and "irresponsible teenagers" and how they set the bar between those two, that we dont know whos in the right or the wrong, but in the end, it comes to a conclusion every single person is either a disgusting pedo or a master-of-manipulation sociopath. It shows us on how, NO ONE in this story is in the right. Their all problematic but thats what proving the truth of society. wow. This is the first game to point that out. What a masterpiece.

Sorry for my influx of comments. I just thought I'd share something else. Nicole feels....revoltingly cathartic? As a high schooler, and even as a college student now, Nicole's voluntary sadism invokes a rebellious aspect of my development I occasionally indulge in and severely repress. There were copious moments during my adolescence when I would've scathed and berated the shit out of authority figures for their mistreatment of me and others. Watching Nicole not only put irresponsible adults in their place but also arrive on the other side completely indifferent gives me prideful guilt. She gets extra about it, but that's expected when your school is a cryptic cesspool of political extremists, pedophiles, perverts&rapists, and generally disobedient sociopaths. Class of '09 is a bold reminder that old doesn't mean gold, and I love it for that.

This feels right. It feels like it would match Nicole a lot, especially after the endings where it doesn’t end well for her. It’s almost bittersweet and calming, like it’s all over

the ending where Nicole just graduates as "normal" hit me really hard, when you read the text she gets back after saying "we were all just bored passing time between these walls" made me think on how i thought i had so many 'friends' in highschool, but after i graduated i was left with a small handful. this song took me back, anyways cool game

This game is funny in the most depressing way. While I was going through it with friends i couldnt help but laugh. But reflecting on the title music and the actual endings, all i can think about is how heavy-hitting the commentary in this game actually is.

Make no mistake, im a sociopath. GOD that sounded evil, let’s rewind a little - I grew up all over costal America. House, after house, after restraining order - everything just kinda blends in. If the divorce rate is 50/50 my mom landed on tails like eight times. So by the time I was 14, right? I moved from seven different houses and attended six different school districts, After a while you don’t see a point in making friends. The vitamin C graduation song? Yeah can’t relate. But then one year all of that almost changed? For the first time I found myself in a school for two consecutive years, going on three. And then I like… started turning pretty a month into high school so the “guys hitting on you social leverage” was really awesome. The popular girls would talk to me all the time. And they were just STUPID! Like they has always been pretty. Never left out, never alone. And when I think about it… all the thinking I’ve ever done was when I was alone. I was nice about it and thought id always be nice about it. Finally in one place to build a steady reputation. And then life said FUCK THAT! - My piece of shit gamer brother got us evicted for pirating breakbeat mixtapes. It's like not even good music! Anyway so Mom was crying packing up the moving boxes and that's when she told me we're moving out of state! And I JUST got settled! I said "FUCK YOU I'm living with Dad" he's just a neighborhood down. I put the boxes down, go over , knock on the door and... BOOM! A GUNSHOT! My second Christmas killed himself! I walked in... Floor looked like a whole ass video game - just blood everywhere. And get this, his suicide note was stuck to the fridge with a Cookie Monster magnet. All he wrote in it was "NICOLE'S FAULT". I'm Nicole by the way, hi WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO TO HIM?! Maybe I missed the office softball game? Men are so into this revenge suicide thing. But whatever, It doesn't matter, Nothing matters... I'm moving... AGAIN City, county, state; All the same fate. But I've always said that while leaving. This time... It's on arrival.

God, this song is both absolutely tragic but uplifting. It really drove home the fact that Nicole is dead, and that no matter if she’s alive or not, life goes on. But at the same time the song feels comforting, as if to say she is at peace.

This game is such a multi-tool of storytelling. It strikes that chord between being super edgy and being really goofy, hitting the sweet spot for comedy. However there's really mature commentary about topics like depression, "adult responsibility", the jail/court systems, drug abuse, bullying, plus a bunch of other things. And what's cool about this whole game is that it's an insanely accurate time capsule of the late 2000's. With references to popular bands, politics, and things that were relevant to the time. Truly a masterpiece. (can you tell this game messed me up?)

wow i feel terrible when im not on my meds, i want to die but i can't so im stuck in this feeling but it feels so bad I'll just smoke until i throw up sometimes or smoke something else until i get dazed and want to pass out for hours because doing that feels better than this

I get the impulses of why Nicole does the things she does. I get it, don't condone it. We've all had them at some point, go off the rails, but it's our empathy and higher reasoning as to why we don't do things like get Kylar to jump or Jeffrey to snap.

Nicole is not a good person. Shitty things happened to her, but it's not a get out of jail free card for her being shitty to others. And yet, even after everything, I wish for a timeline where she can find true happiness, even a little.

Yeah tbh I think Nicole would be quite redeemable if given the chance. Half of me despises her, someone I'd have loathed in my high school years. Especially for roping someone like Jecka who for all her faults I believe is a good person into her horrible ideas. The other believes she just got the shortest straw and even with all she's done it doesn't mean she can't have a better life. At the moment, an individual named "Aaron Monroe" is credited for making the piano music, however after a bunch of digging, I found out that the same melody is exactly like the one in "City Slicker" by Feather. For some reason, there is a overlap between the brony fandom and the class of 09 fandom for some reason.
