This Soldier has serious potential. His mannerism and Army verbage is impressive for someone who is in AIT. While i was in AIT, i didn't know a damn thing. It took years of push ups for me to get it. Good job Soldier.

To address certain questions. (Almost a year later.) I was going through AIT at the time. Now I have cross cannons and a few other things added. Such as DUIs and unit awards. If I get bugged enough I'll post more. Appreciate the support though.

Aww, I'm not trying to be funny but this is too cute... just one lonely ND ribbon to get correctly in place. I'm sure somebody will benefit from this. Good job Troop! Damn, I wish, I had KZread back in 1986 when, I joined the Army it would have saved me a ton of grief. Nonetheless, I retired after 31 years of service in May 2017. Hooah.

@@fetengineer9151 do you know what Scuba School is? I kinda sound young and cocky but I really want to do scuba school since I’ve always loved to swim and go learn how to scuba or whatever the term is. Is it considered a SOF, do I need to go to the 6 month qualification course or is it like a short 8 week program like BCT, or Airborne etc. looked it up on Goarmy website but it wasn’t clear

I am a uniform prep specialist and was a United States Marine in the 03 infantry field. I have impeccable attention to detail and have been doing the agsu and asu jackets and shirts with my company for over a year. and i will say that your tricks are pretty good but when you hit boards you are going to want an 1/8th inch thick diameter ruler made by omicron or something similar to be sure your measurements are on point. Some promotional board judges do know how to spot a minor infraction with their eyes this could be one side of your name plate being crooked by 1/16th of an inch and yes they can tell even that small of a measurement. You have really good judges that can pass or fail you or you can have really bad judges who will easily pass a jacket that would have easily failed otherwise. It depends on unit primarily. US/BRANCH need to be tilted along the edge of the jackets inner fold of the collar/lapel. Ribbon racks should be exactly 1/8th inch. The nameplate sides do matter and yes the boards will care if they are off. Up and down and side to side matching measurements. In other words up and down the same and side to side the same. Most of the time they wont be matching but up and down do have to match and the sides even if diffrent from up and down have to match. You will fail a promotional board if the sides do not match each other. Everything in the military is symmetrical and even. Always,Always,Always triple check your work even if you think you got it, check again. Saved me from my early early days of getting scolded by a customer for unintentionally screwing a measurements up. Good old school teachers and mentors really help with that. When in doubt have a buddy check it too.

Can someone explain to me why he has the ‘U.S.’ brass disk on his LEFT collar? Shouldn’t his Branch of Service (Infantry/Artillery/Transportation/whatever) ‘brass’ go on the left collar and the ‘U.S.’ disk on his RIGHT collar? Or is it that he just hasn’t been assigned to a specific Branch yet? It does look unusual for an Enlisted man to be wearing the ‘U.S.’ initials on both collars.

I'm a Cadet Major at a Military Academy and this was excellent. When I Inspect a Cadet I check all markings for proper measurements with a tailor's ruler and that includes tie placements and all must be perfect or they are marked off and demerits are issued .That's how I do it my Father is a Marine and He tells me all the time that Iam a hard nose tough disciplinarian.Class A is a Corporate Suit and tie in the military and you need to impeccably dressed.Remember it's the Military it's suppose to be tough and strict.
