Great video. Spent far to much time photographing the last days of 33s, 47s and 50s on the West of England line myself in the early 90s. Great memories!

Some great 47/7 action there ,it reminds me of the E & G where they were getting thrashed at 100mph ,happy days.

Great video showing the dusk of loco-hauled trains on the West of England route. Interesting formation behind 33116.... contains 3x 65xx TSOT coaches (you'd normally only get one)!!

Some right old nails they sent to Old Oak after Res had snaffled the 47/7s, didn't they... Some nice thrash there, though.

Where has all this additional video come from and has there been a DVD version of Waterloo - Exeter Finale MTA ? my VHS copy got dust damage and I love to get it along with all the extra footage especially the Hoovers at Salisbury section.

Hi The additional material was some of the footage that never made the Waterloo Exeter vhs tape as I was tight on the 3 hour limit of SVHS tapes in those days. I’ve been meaning to put the whole video on KZread as there’s no chance of doing a dvd, I will do it over the weekend and post it up. We did 6 videos all together if you like that era 3 on the GWR and one the 37s in North Wales.

GWR yam yam nice one I liked the Pad Bristol one to, so are the tapes still on sale or did you do a set run? my tape got dust damage. I have a reconditioned machine, but I need to keep running it back and forth. I was caught in some shots window hanging and in the cab on occasion...shhh kept schthum on the Exeter one. I think you'd do well if there was a DVD or Blu-ray multi layer the nostalgia alone would sell well. Locomaster profiles, TVP and video 125 all sell on DVD even stuff from back in the 1980's. I got TVP's profile on class 50's which was first on sale in 1988. ps what 6 where there?

Hi No tapes left i'm afraid, they will all be up on KZread from the original SVHS tapes but the quality is poor now compared to standard definition stuff you see. There were only 5 vids in the end, they were GWR 1 Padd - Britol GWR 2 Bristol - Plymouth GWR 3 can be seen here kzread.info/dash/bejne/lp5mt9qJobTcdps.html Waterloo Exeter Crewe - Holyhead Doing waterloo exeter today

There was usually two locos out every time I filmed the route. One of my other videos on KZread looks at the whole line over 3 hours

    Great video, but there's no apostrophe after numbers for a plural, so it's 50s not 50's, and 47s & 33s !

The Filter Fluff Fifties retired gracefully in the early 1990s and therefore their duties were turned over the 33 Cromptons and the 47s.
