    Amazing footage of 37 action, you really seem to draw the tones out of the drivers, many of which are white melodious! I take it the flasks are from Bridgwater? I liked your use of telephoto cam shots - very effective. It's great to see the 37s continued use on Network Rail Test trains albeit in Colas livery - we get them up hee in Ayrshire but the Hjnterston and Hotness flask runs have gone over to class tis and even 88 EDs have been trailed due to their diesel capability. A very enjoyable video - thanks for that, best wishes, Ken

    Many thanks for your comment . Most of the flask trains come from Bridgwater but a few come out of Berkeley which is now closed but a few trains stil come out of there . But like everything else the 37s are now replaced with DRS 68s on the flasks had a few 20s and 57s doing it but 68s now take it most weeks .

    Would you believe, there are some people that complain that it's "a diesel" if one of those turns up on a train instead of the expected steam. I don't see how anyone could possibly complain. Lol at car alarm @ 13:00.

    Thanks for viewing some of the older diesel locos are better than some modern trains so there is always plenty of chance to get somw good thrash or clag . Yes i like the car alarm going off at the same time ...

    Is it really necessary to double-head those nuclear flasks?

  • @keynsham-trains

    @keynsham-trains

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for viewing . Yes the nuclear flask trains are always double headed due to what they are pulling . The 37s no longer do this class 68 or 88 do it even these new locos are always worked in pairs so if one breaks down the other can carry on.

    @@keynsham-trains Very sensible I suppose given the age of these locos. And it gives us enthusiasts the chance to see and hear these glorious old beasts back in action. Thanks for the vids, very much enjoyed them.

  • @LukewMorgan

    I sometimes wonder just how heavy those nuclear flask wagons are. A pair of 37s to haul 1 or 2 wagons seems a bit overkill...

  • @keynsham-trains

    @keynsham-trains

    8 жыл бұрын

    The train weight is 750 tonnes then on top of that is the 2 locos weight . 2 locos are used due to what they carry if 1 brakes down the other can carry on . The nuclear flask train run from crewe to Bridgwater & back the 37,s are now over 50 years old with huge miles on the clock . Other locos have been used but always in pairs.

    The actual reason they use 2 locos is that if there's an accident with a flask then the driver will be safe as the other loco would take the blast. Safety precautions
