    Thanks Kat and Mark, is it also correct to say 'I can't wait to visit the historical sites and TO try the food'? or we definitely do not need the secong 'To', in the sentence? Thanks!

    Good question! You don't have to use the [to] the 2nd time. "Wait to" is the only 'to' we need to use. We can keep adding more actions though, for example: "I can't [wait to] go home, sit on the sofa, turn on the TV and binge watch something." This is the same rule as a phrase like: "have to" For example: "This weekend, I [have to] go to the supermarket, buy some groceries, visit the bank and clean up the kitchen." Notice that we didn't add any extra 'to''s! Hope that makes sense!

    Thank you so much . I have a question about the word (fellow) in the following example. Thank you for being considerate fellow passengers. Is it necessary to use (fellow) or can it be said without it ? If the answer is yes , does the meaning change?

  • @highlevellistening

    @highlevellistening

    Ай бұрын

    “Fellow” usually means something like “people who are the same as me” So “fellow passengers” means I am also a passenger and I am speaking to more passengers. Or “she is a fellow teacher” means we are both teachers “Fellow students” means the speaker and the people they are talking to are also students It would change the sentence a little because “thank you for being considerate passengers” means it’s good to be nice to everyone And “thank you for being considerate fellow passengers” sounds like the speaker is also a passenger
