Whose beach buggy do you prefer: Clarkson's, Hammond's or May's? 🤔

I’d like Jeremy’s, but only if I could swap the v8 for a smaller engine, a more accessible front, chunkier tyres and smaller rods… I’m very picky about my beach buggies

Hammond's beach buggy is my favourite. Looks so purposeful as an off roader

Mays is my favourite, old fashioned 60’s style simple VW beetle conversion

I remember watching this over Christmas break when the series was launched. Still one of the greatest trios doing whatever they really want to do.

Crazy guys with great sense of humour. That's why we love them.

In Namibia, we call it the Skeleton Coast, many died trying to cross it.

May’s buggy is a ‘traditional’ buggy, Hammond’s is an ‘off-road/safari’ buggy and Clarkson’s is a ‘Hot Rod’ buggy.

Unbelievable, at the end they were saved!! Who would have thought that? Amazing!

Grand Tour has already become a classic and it's "only" 6 years old. Think how in the same time, Top Gear in its golden era would release twelve seasons, now that seems unthinkable of. Not anyone's fault particularly, just a complaint for how the world shifts and car themed shows are slowly going down again. Maybe we gave TG for granted and TGT taught us that an awesome car show is not a given, so let's appreciate them while they exist and are good, and don't pay too much attention to whether they're slightly worse or better than before

If you have a motortrend+ subscription, try a few episodes of Roadkill... they usually come up with some great antics with their project cars. It's not as polished as TG or TGT, but it's still very entertaining.

Hammond's did the job nicely. Although I would need one a few sizes larger.

I had this happen to me on a gt750 at esperance lost the front end buried up to the disc sea over the tank dragged it up and out and dropped it at 10000 in first. Later realised in pulling the front wheel out l tore all my neck muscles. Still get a twinge 25 years later.

My favourite bit from this ep is when they’re suspended from the cable-car thingy and you can clearly see that Clarkson’s car is being driven by a dark-haired stunt driver.

Really? I just watched it on the big screen TV upclose and I could swear it was him in every shot. Can you send a timecode? I think you've mistaken the shadow of his rolling cage for black hair...

@@fnherzog - Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don’t have access to Prime, but I remember it from an old KZread clip of the episode, someone else said “That’s SO obviously not Clarkson!” But I may be mistaken.

@@fnherzog yeah it's definitely Jezza the whole time. I think the part he's talking about is at 54:53 right as he lands on the beach, he's looking over the side of his car at the ground and there's a shadow being cast on his head by his windshield, making the top of his head really dark.
