Thanks for the introduction to this app. I am not a clarinet player but will integrate it in my cello practicing.

I have a good drone tool, but that metronome looks great!

Nice video. I've had Tonal Energy on my phone for quite awhile but wasnt getting much out of it (other than a random smiley face). Thanks for the info on how to get more out of it. Speaking of apps, I wish someone would make a metronome that would automatically increase the tempo by a beat or two per second after a set number of measures. I hate to stop playing to adjust the metranome when I am working to play a brief passage faster. Also (and I hope this isn't inappropriate), you seem to be very comfortable with the camera in this video. Your personality comes shining through. 😊

Reading a comment like this first thing in the morning sets me up for a great day. Thank you! I have a video in mind about metronomes that addresses your tempo change idea. It’s an old school approach. I use a franz Bakelite metronome from the 50s. I like that I can move tempos by moving a lever. It’s far less disruptive than picking up a digital metronome and pushing buttons. Making in traditional metronome numbers is also easier for me. The proposed video would either be hilarious and helpful or come across as totally unhinged. I should give it a try lol

Thank you so much for posting this video! It certainly sound like a very informative app. I have been playing clarinet for a very long time, and have recently returned to it after a long break. This will definitely help. Also, what was the scale variant that you use? I couldn't quite understand the name when you said it at the end.

I think I was talking about the Klose scales. They are here clarinet.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Klose-Scales.pdf I was probably muttering with some kind of acknowledgment that I don't play them exactly as written because in the moment I was self conscious that somebody may bust me for that ;)

Thanks for this video, just recently picked up clarinet again after a very long break. I found your videos are really helpful. Have you done one correct embouchure, especially on the altisimo register? Thanks again

I haven't done one with that exact focus. This is the one I would suggest to you given what you are thinking about. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dICezbZuo5q7ibQ.html I think this is the best way to have our playing "stay ready" to get into the altissimo. I am working hard to put a great deal of things together and offer things to people in your exact scenario. Stay tuned ;)

@@ilanmetoudi Some of the issue could have to do with the reed/mouthpiece combination you are using. What strength reed are you playing on? What mouthpiece?

That was the Klose scales from the Klose method. Google Klose scales and download from the clarinet institute if you wanna have a copy. :)
