The music is so progressive and deep yet soulful and pop like in the beats. The juxtaposition of the beats vs lyrics is like fighting someone you love deeply. Never stop PLEASE keep doing what you’re doing. So special and underrated

This song is absolute fire, another reason Clarence Clarity has among my absolute favorite music all time. One small thing I strangely really like about it is the lyric “I’m never gonna make it cause I *cannot*”… doesn’t explain much being a tautology 😂 but goes hard af Also, this version needs to replace the album version imo - getting right into the song works better than the intro on the album. 💯

So, a year on, this track has had some time to stew. And yeah, I was right from the first time I saw this. This song is a straight up pop masterpiece. Leave Earth still isn't out though.... Also, the football bit from the video is still brilliant

Extremely hard to get into but if you're at all into abrasive music they're lyrically brilliant. Hated them for a long time before falling in love. You making me sad with you're 2 albums thing. This song is so powerful, given the context of his previous material in comparison to this recent single. On his last album, we hear him basically mocking God, if you will, saying "If your teachings juxtapose with prose from other lines we'll write our contradictions, you've got yours and good lorn I've got mine." and "Crucifix in my lap like that a more satisfying erection / If you're hearing that voice from above shrink wrap the fucker and drown it in love". Now we hear Clarence singing a different tune, he's in so much pain he's praying: Please lord, take me back in time to before we met so I can talk myself out of this, and it will never come to be. You can feel the emotion on every level. #deluxepain, a fitting label

+napukapu I listen to Death Grips without a care in the world what others think, the best way to indulge in music is to do so if you truly enjoy it and/or it screams what you want to hear. Enjoying or hating artist X doesn't have to be a social status, those people are the same kind of people who put /mu/core on a high pedestal because it's the *cool* kinds of music to have respect for.

I didn't even know what others thought about Death Grips, what exactly is a meme band, give some examples of meme bands? Is it because you, a hipster, cannot be seen enjoying something that was once pure and free of memes, is now covered in memes? What will you do with Clarence goes mainstream and memes are made about him and his music? This attitude is pretty silly if you ask me.
