TARDIS senses time differently, right? we learned that in the Doctor's Wife. And this Clara girl was going to lead the Doctor to Trenzalore, confetti herself across space and time, and then develop a friendship with the Doctor that would lead him to nearly break time itself, the whole hybrid fiasco. AND! For as far as we know she's still an imminent threat to reality - taking the other TTC back to Gallifrey 'the long way round' - which means if she dies (again) on one of those merry adventures with Me, everything falls apart. If I were the TARDIS and I sensed that Gordian knot of wibbly wobbly I'd bristle a bit too :P Just like it did with ol' immortal Jack.

MOIST Meat I hate furries actually it is. The TARDIS bends the outside in order to fit, as opposed to enlargening itself. It would also be much easier physically to compress space than enlarge space. This is also why any TARDIS wreckage isn’t compressed in the doctor’s wife: when a TARDIS is destroyed the space around it bulges and the interior returns to it’s proper relative size, and is then left where it is.

I think it had a lot to do with how heavy importance Clara was put in the show's run with Moffat (and I'm not saying that to insult Moffat, I absolutely love Moffat's run of the show). It was the equivalent to how some felt with Russell T. Davies putting heavy importance on Rose Tyler (although I can at least say Clara was at LEAST friendly and her relationship with both 11 and 12 were love _and_ personalities whereas Rose wanted to snog Nine/Ten and ignore everything else).

pretty easy. because she's the first female companion to actually 'attack' that invulnerable persona of the doctor and really force him her way, and that hurts the 'muh wohmyn' crowd. You can see that by how strongly they always insist on that they would have been fine with victorian governess clara as a companion. A little sass and smartassery is allowed as long as you obviously and clearly know your boundaries and gender roles.

This perfectly shows why 11 and Clara didn't work and why 12 and Clara worked so well. 11 was generally shown up and belittled by Clara and it felt almost like they didn't even like each other very much, but 12 and Clara played off each other's egotism equally. They're like siblings. They bicker and take each other down a peg, but there's an underlying layer of respect for each other.

I always felt like 11 and Clara were dancing around the idea of a romance with each other picking at each other the way adolescents who are attracted to one another do. With 12 they realized they do care for each other, deeply, but not romantically. They held each other accountable to raise each other up, not to knock each other down a peg.

It would've been so cool to have the victorian Clara as a companion. Any companion that's actually from the past would be a refreshing change of pace!

I didn't like him as a person, but I don't think you were intended too. The whole point is that you're on the Doctor's side in this conflict, but you have to realize Clara is not obliged to some contract to always be with the Doctor - although in the end, she chose him, and while she DID love danny, he's gone, and now her relationship with the doctor is stronger than ever, making the hybrid possible. The point I'm trying to make is the writing and acting were good, it's just like not liking a villain in a story (obv he wasn't that at all)

She basically made him into who he is, and that's not counting the numerous time she has saved his life. Rosa was important, no arguements there, the same as almost all the new Doctor Who companions, but they have nothing on Clara.

Clara is my favorite

I love Clara cause she was one of the only companions that wasn't like running around after the doctor without knowing what to do. She wasn't depend so much on the doctor and honestly I loved that!

I've given this a lot of thought considering that there is a very VERY fine line between Clara lovers and haters. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan but I don't hate her. I much prefer her with Capaldi than with Smith (Partly because I associate 11 with the Ponds). My list of favorite companions go as such (I haven't watched Jodie Whittaker yet): 1. Donna 2 and 3 (tie). Rose and Amy and Rory 4. Bill 5. Clara 6. Martha (I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't like her... don't hate me please!! Also, I don't know if I can really say that she is my least favorite considering most of my favorite episodes are during series 3)

This list is fair, no one will hate you if you like Martha. Personally I liked her but never felt like she was the best companion but I never hated her. I think with lots of people having rose at the time for the while duration of the show at that time it was hard to give her up.

John smith is the uk equivalent of John Doe, but also to denote the common Everyman, the average bloke on the street. So whenever the doctor has to use a human name, he becomes anybody. Given that the doctor has become female, I think it will now change to Jane smith.

Clara is my favorite cause she's so snappy yet adorable yet alsso reckless, it makes for some amazing plots and funny lines

Imo i just found clara smug, too jolting when the writing didnt match up, even for the little jokes, and found her a bit empty of the off screen adventures with the doctor. Still, not like i watch it any more so im not the type of person they want to please 🤷‍♂️

Not a fan of Jenna Coleman and Clara then 😂

Shannon Cortez the word cringe describes a feeling of intense awkwardness that you can’t stop your face from creasing.

Shannon Cortez the kids were laughing at something that isn’t funny, as a family friendly show it isn’t that cringe but anyone over the age of 14 may cringe at it.
