I was almost kissed by a cousin. I pushed her away, other family members saw and we never saw her again.

It's even more sad knowing he actually told her in the next episode and it got her killed, just as he feared.

At the end of 'Fanatic', Lana said _'...you know that spacecraft that I saw during this last shower?'_ That means at the beginning of season 5 earlier she told Clark about everything what happened to her during the second meteor shower. Also in this episode she said she was studying the spacecraft. Then in 'Lockdown', Clark asked Lana why she didn't tell him she was investigating with Lex. She answered because EVERY TIME she brings up it (spacecraft) he changes the subject. Every time: 1) the beginning of season 5; 2) the end of 'Fanatic'. That's why in 'Splinter' while researching the meteor shower, Lana immediately closed her notebook when Clark came in. Then hid the fact she was working with Lex.

The tragedy of Clana. Every Smallville fan has their favorite relationship their favorite combination of him and her. I've even heard of people that feel as though Clark should have made a better choice if he had picked Chloe as opposed to Lana or Lois. I heard Tom Welling in an interview once asked about Lana and Lois why Clark was able to commit to Lois but he couldn't with Lana, why he couldn't take that last step and share everything with her. Welling said that Clark's Journey wasn't just about being at peace with the two sides of his nature it was also about him being able to share that completely with others and he said that when he was younger, Clark was less emotionally developed less sure of himself and the world and he believed that sharing everything with Lana was a point of no return. And he was right in that regard but I think there was part of him that knew on some level that they were meant to fall in love but not stay together. Because he did share his secret Pete and he did come clean to Chloe and Lex found out eventually only took 7 seasons, before he was forced to forget that l3 seasons layer in the final episode. It was a nice little elegant way of exposing him to everything and then taking it away in regards to Lex/Clark friendship. Where only Clark would remember his mortal enemy was once a dear friend, and fellow outsider. But withLana it was always on again off again he'd run off on red K to Metropolis he come back she'd run off to Paris later she'd run off and hook up Jason Teague later Lex. Long and never really knew what she wanted and they were never completely on the same sheet of music. It is beautiful chapter or chapters and it was very Romeo and Juliet watching them stare at each other as if what they were currently feeling was going to last but it rarely does when you're young.. Lois was a fighter always and she was constantly moving never setting down Roots never committing to anything because the one thing she needed the most she didn't have. She couldn't depend on anything there were things that were important to her like her father and her sister but really she was alone almost her whole life and I think maybe Clark was one of the first people she ever started to depend on and I think it bothered her and that's why she gave him so much guff. But he took it, he is playful with her they tease each other, they got under each others skin they challenged each other the from the beginning they always had each other's back always. Bozeman Arthur Curry and really liked him but it didn't last then she fell for Oliver Queen and she really cared for him but it didn't last. Lois was about seeking the truth she never kept bouncing around and then out of a relationship with Clark to Define herself. Louis was always pretty much for self the only thing that really changed about her enter time on Smallville was her ability to bond with a Kent and to admit finally that she had feelings for Clark but Lana went through so many changes that at the end she was nothing like the person she started out as and sometimes that happens people do change but with Lois she was always who she was she was never impressed or tricked by Lex she saw through him right away and her plan was to go out and to change the world. Louis like Lana had questions need to be answered and she was looking to Define her life in the extraordinary way. But Louis was the partner that Clark needed because he needed somebody that was going to constantly challenge him get under his skin driving nuts but always be there always. One of the reasons why I love Smallville so much is because it more than anything else has developed the characters so well my favorite Clark Kent my favorite Lex Luthor my favorite Louis Lana Chloe Pete the Kents it's all right there. It had some holes in it wasn't perfect it made mistakes it was on way too long they should have done five or six years and then just wrapped it up but overall it is an amazing achievement and still the finest Benchmark of superhero fantasy dramas. Okay I'm sorry I didn't mean to get a long-winded and chatty but it was a amazing thing it would have been nice it was a little more consistent but I had three different sets of showrunners and it share of problems but overall it was an amazing achievement with amazing actor from time to time so I'm truly truly great writing. Still a fan and I always will be long live Smallville. Just like Jonathan Kent says in the finale always remember Smallville

Yes and no. In the beginning, she and others were exceptionally nosey because Clark would act weird when it came to anything about the caves or talk of alien/powered people which makes it their fault for demanding he trusts them with every little aspect of his life. Which is entitled and overbearing considering they were teenagers in high school at the time. Later on when it was suspected that he had meteor infected abilities, she kind of rode her high horse by expecting that he should disclose his secrets if he loved her. People deserve space and some things to keep to themselves. If she couldn't trust him because of he didn't want to tell her every little aspect of himself then fair enough, she should have left it at that. To be fair though, I can understand how knowing he was hiding something could drive them crazy wishing he'd trust them with whatever it was so there wouldn't be a rift between them. If it had simply been meteor infected abilities he most likely wouldn't have hid that, but it was the fact he was an alien refugee that made that such an impossible choice to make. I think it was poor writing to string out the Lana finding out bit though because if Clark was going to willingly tell some people, Lana should have been one of them before Pete was.

@@Zasaramel - Lana should have found out by like season 4, not 6. It dragged out way too long. Her breakup with Clark in season 5 imo was what led to her characters downfall when she got involved with Lex Luthor. Even when she got back together with Clark in season 7, she had already been in too deep with the Luthors that it changed her for the worse even with Clark there. But then again, everyone already knew from the start that Clark was ultimately supposed to end up with Lois Lane.

@@Zasaramel Clark couldn't tell Lana his secret even being infected by red kryptonite. The meteor shower killed her parents, he thought she would hate him. Then after "Reckoning" he was afraid to lose her forever, that's why he kept saving his secret on.

I understand why Clark here stopped kissing her suddely. He was afraid not to restrain himself. It's proved in the previous episode when Clana were passionately kissing on her bed, then she hit her head at something. Clark was scared it was him who had hurt her.
