Superb video Derek. Excellent coverage of the 2 tours at Carmarthen & BTM. Nice to see a steam tour in South West Wales., . Unfortunately we missed this one as was up in Yorkshire. Our son captured it. Hope you are keeping well. Kind regards C&A

Thank you very much C&A. The last time I went to Carmarthen was on a short family holiday break in the mid 1960s...

The sheen of the train is in contrast to the scruffy appearance of Bristol Temple Meads. The place looks like it hasn't been properly painted in years and a bit of weedkilling wouldn't go astray.

Clan line air brake compressor/pump is located in the rear of her tender hence the steam coming out the top and the doors at the back of the tender

Two serious safety issues visible in the first 60 seconds of this posting. First a serious fault in the signal interlocking, the second the foot crossing ! The catch point should have been set for the arriving DMU and interlocked with the Home signal, because trains don't always stop where they are supposed too. Worse if the DMU hadn't stopped where its supposed to it could have been derailed by the catch point and could possibly have crashed into the people viewing the steam loco. Secondly the foot crossing should have been closed to allow the DMU to enter and stop in the station. Again in case it didn't stop where it is supposed too. Neither of these incidents would have happened under BR, so I assume "today's" Micky Mouse Railways of Britain have thrown the BR rule book in the dustbin. Just so you know I'm an ex BR Toplink driver !
