I would hope that the Claas would be able to go faster. Its cost $300,000 more and the event is being but on by Claas

The class was only taking 1/2 the hay the John deere was. Funny how claas hosted the event. Why didn't they let the farmers run them for the test.

Why people waste there time with these manufacturer sponsored tests is beyond me you know what they make the results say without even watching the video.

I really dont like the new JD 8xxx series. The older 7xxx series for me is still king. Easy as pie to fix in the field.

Enough with the Stupid music, want to hear the machines working. Isn't the Jaguar 970 rated at 775hp while the JD 8600 is rated at 625hp? Why run two machines side by side that aren't the same? Would have liked to see some video of how clean the ground is behind each machine.

Regarding the power difference of the 8600 you are right, but they have not been able to get another model. With regard to the rows, I consider that they will be for all the same since they will not change machine to make one or the other. The video is from Claas Germany, not ours, and that is why all of the above are assumptions. We hope this solves your doubts.

I agree. Horsepower to MPH ratios mean little when you are comparing two machines that are 2 horsepower classes apart. If there is going to be a side by side comparison, make it legitimate and cover more than one statistic. Performance numbers, features, price, and parts availability. On the later, there are guys in the US that have told me parts availability for Claas is spotty at times. Sometimes taking weeks to get what is needed. And dealerships a are fewer as well so if a part can be had for a while, how soon can another machine be delivered to get the hay off?...if they have one hand.

I do not know the situation in the US, but I can assure you that in Spain, the pieces arrive from Germany in less than 24 hours except on weekends. At our dealership we usually have spare (used machines) for "emergency" cases.

Talleres Agrícolas Mata I don't doubt that...but the market size in the US is slightly different from Spain. Claas forage harvesters sell well in the US, mostly due to Deere's issues with previous models. They would probably sell more if their support network was better. This is why they struggle with combines. Too many other good options to chose from in North America.

I understand that Deere availability might be limited but then run a smaller Claas. If this is there video I would assume they could find one somewhere and then you're comparing apples to apples.

now put a krone big x in that will blow all 3 away you gotta machines that are equal otherwise your making it look crap and showing a massive bias to the biggest machine but like i said put a krone big x in too. i know why you didnt. and so do you

With respect to the 8600 if there is a difference. The NH FR 780 has the same power (775 HP) as the 970. yes, the krone is missing but they did not have any for the test anyway. This may also be the reason why they have used an 8600 instead of an 8700. The video is made by CLAAS Germany not ours for that reason all these are assumptions. We hope to have solved your doubts.

There have been other videos showing Krone machines side by side with Claas and Deere. Horsepower matched, Krone is left in the dust. Yeah, you can have a Big X and a lot of horsepower, but what is it costing you in fuel? V engines aren't nearly as efficient on fuel and horsepower output as an inline engine. Also not nearly as reliable.

For a 970, 60-75 L / hour is a very high average diesel consumption? These data are measured with orbis 750 in maize.
