Is harvesting sugarcane as much of a pain in the ass as it looks?

A very well thought out machine,I wondered about the crabsteer trailer but now it makes sense.Less compaction means faster regrowth.Good video,thanks.

+dimduk I hadn't noticed that until you said something; makes perfect sense. I had wondered why it had hydraulic pistons at the joint in the middle; I thought maybe it was a permanent, articulated unit, and that was how it steered, but now I see that the piston must be to make the trailer swing out to one side and stay there. You could just use an angled drawbar, but with a piston, you can make the trailer follow you straight for when you are traveling on roads, and you can also make it swing to whichever side you like, which is more versatile.

Kaum zu fassen das es den in echt gibt. Hab' den im Landwirtschafts Simulator als Mod und dachte das wäre wieder einer dieser "Fun Mods" wo jemand ne interessante Idee hatte aber offenbar gibt's diesmal ein reales Vorbild. XD

This is interesting! The technology of the cart working in conjunction with the harvester is really ingenious. Are the movements of the chute and the cart controlled by a software program or some other technology? The wide tracks will make it possible to handle field conditions very well. Any idea what the PSI of the unit is?

Pot is legal in one city in Holland, and there are more tourists smoking in Amsterdam than locals (and there are a hell of a lot of other things to do there besides get high). The rest of the city and the majority of the country is full of normal people, and they are, and have always been, highly industrious, capable and clever people. Only an ignorant dumbass would make an assumption like "everyone in Holland is a stoner, because, you know, they have legal pot in Amsterdam!" Prostitution is also legal in Amsterdam, IIRC, but that doesn't mean that everyone in Holland is a sex addict who likes to fuck strangers 24/7.

This is great but what is the benefit of such a machine? wouldnt tractor/trailer combos be faster? or is it a cost of running situation.

And no damage to the soil in wet conditions !! Better for the luzerne fields. It's a bit slower, but in muddy conditions it will be faster and do a much nicer work. Also no mud on the road from tractor/trailers that come from the field

this way no truck in the field since tuckx road tires are an horror for compaction and give no traction as soon as its wet

flo flo has it spot on. If a company such as this can been seen to be actively minimizing compaction. Wil Hartog, retired GP Motorbike racer. Quite a guy.

Tractor/trailer in most countries means an agricultural tractor towing an agricultural trailer, in this case it would be a self loading wagon

***** Was echt geweldig... het was 's ochtends heel vroeg toen het net licht begon te worden. Er hing zo'n lage mist over het veld wat hele mooie effecten gaf. Prachtige machine is het!

Are you commenting on the angle the bunker sits behind the chopper? It is set up to crabsteer, second set of tracks run next to track of first set so as not to have the weight go over the same patch of soil twice. All to do with minimising the impact on the soil by this activity.

Was wäre wenn der Anhänger nicht dahinter hängen würde? Würde der Häcksler dann kippen oder hält er mit den Raupen dass gleichgewicht?

Here in Ireland that contraption would be pretty much useless.

This concept is okay for smaller fields like the one shown in the video it wouldn't really serve a purpose on bigger longer fields they would changing boxes twice in a row

ok so what is left after harvesting , they left it on ground and this machine collecte it and store it in ceratin location to become as silage after fermentaion , right ?

Must be too dry. Loosing a lot of the fines.

crazy how drive they are cutting the hay and letting it blow away. If I was that farmer I would be upset. Seems like such over kill. You still have to wait for boxes etc.

Can you tell me what point you are making? Please bear in mind that this service is in existence due to the nature of the weather there. It is difficult to make hay there, hence making silage came about. But sometimes it is too wet even for that. A solution for this has deemed to be to dry it artificially, in a dehydration plant. The company you see operating here is such a plant and the equipment you see is the result of many years of development, It is a combination of pursuing the utmost efficiency in logistics specific to the product and process (feeding a dehydration plant), as well as actively pursuing to meet the wishes of their customers which is to minimise damage to the soil. In many parts of the world, where their soils are drier, this is not considered such a big problem, but where this is filmed, it is. This is not only for fear of getting stuck, or bogged, as the Aussies say, but because the soil is a living thing and has structure to it.

Max Teunissen Hier is geen drone aan te pas gekomen. Ik filmde toen nog met een camera op een 4 meter lange stok ;-) Nu gebruik ik een DJI Phantom 2.
