I also prefer suspended pedal. I feel like they're so underrated because most cars have the other one.

Thank you for the nice comment Adam! Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos.. You hit the nail on the head for me that's something I always wanted to try and do with my videos, keep things simple and to the point! :) Always nice to hear from a fellow C43 owner. I actually run summer tyres all year round. I've found the 4 wheel drive system works really well and the car still handles great over the winter periods so no need to swap tyres. I'm not sure where you are from but at least here in the UK there's no laws to use winter tyres.

Hey! Legroom and headroom was great in the back of the shooting brake, huge boot too! Much more space in both boot and rear than my c class saloon.

I have the C43 Coupe 2019 facelift and awaiting delivery of the A45s early 2022 I can’t sell the C43 because of the fun I have in it and the beautiful exhaust sound, so I’m keeping it and having 2 AMG cars because I can and because life is too short

The biggest immediate difference for me is that one is a saloon and the other is an estate. I am a big fan of the CLA but I think it looks so much better as a 4 door coupe and I would have one in a heartbeat...if only I could afford it.

Hi Ron, The 4 door coupe is my absolute favouite too in CLA45s form. I did request a coupe to test drive but they only had the estate. What a beast though for an estate!

AB Auto...I currently own the old CLA45 coupe and my next car will either be a facelift C43 estate or the CLA45 S shooting brake. My rapidly aging twins lol, are dictating the next purchase and tbh is seems like the C43 estate might be a smidge more practical regards the loading area? To the naked eye the interior of the CLA45 S looks so much better than that of the C43 imo,however is it all just for show? Is it as well put together as I imagine the c43's is?

Hey Paul, The shooting brake is great but I think you are right the C43 estate would be a little bit more practical. It's a tricky one for sure! Either is going to feel like a big step up from your current 45 interior wise. The new 45 interior is really nice and much more modern than the C43. Quality is good but you will notice the 43 feels a bit more up market in some areas but it feels a bit dated too now. Both are amazing cars though so I think you will be happy either way. Have you watched my big C43 vs CLA45s video I posted a couple of weeks ago? It's a longer more in-depth head to head of these two cars. Hopefully will be really helpful :)

Did you do a 0-60 timer with the cla45s compared to the c43 also can you do a new video on the c43 0-60 time I think you can get better in the 3s

I decided to order myself a CLA45s in the end I loved it so much. Can't wait for it to arrive to make videos with it. The non S version is still amazing too!

Contacted MB regarding a test drive of the CLA 45s. They responded by saying "this is a rare car, however we have a normal CLA you can have a look at and test drive".🤔 so looks like its the new RS3 then. Well done MB.

Ah, that's not very helpful! The CLA45s are indeed rare at the moment (I am seeing 1 year old used ones selling for more than brand new) due to it going into to production right before COVID. Your looking at next year delivery if you order one at the moment I hear. They could easily get their hands on one for you to test drive though. This one I had was a demo car from Mercedes head office. One of my viewers actually borrowed the same car and recognised the plate from my video. I do sense your frustration because many years ago I went to a Mercedes show room for the first time because I wanted to buy the original CLA45 and the sales person did not take me seriously at all as a proper customer and would not let me even drive the AMG. I walked away and have never used that dealership since. Fast forward now and that has lost them sales of all the cars I've bought since.

Ab my brother.... I am looking into a c43 but where do i find a cla45s? I only see cla45 on used car sites and mercedes site. I do not see the s varient anywhere. I am in new york

Ah! Unfortunately the S model on the CLA45 is not available in the US. I’m not sure why they cut it but you can only buy the standard 45. It’s still a great car if you pick up the new model (2020 onwards).

What about the road comfort? Had to sell my V40 r design with 19" wheels as the smallest bump was atrocious.....got an A6 Quattro presently and that's fine.

I think you would be disappointed in the comfort of both of these cars to be honest coming from your A6. You'd be better off getting a non AMG model like a E class. AMG's are pretty comfortable in their class but overall performance cars are never about the comfort so you do have to sacrifice that. I love It though myself, I like the engagement and feeling the road and the sharper handling. I can certainly see the appeal of a nice smooth comfortable A6 though for longer journeys :)

dont even need that, they come without opf in our market and a simple resonator delete will make it pop and bang like crazy in sport plus and race mode

What about the stereo sound system in the CLA…referencing to other reviews, it’s quite crappy…can you confirm as this may also be a dealbreaker for an audiophile like me 😬😬😬

Hey Jimmy, I actually was curious about this myself so I filmed a video on it. I'm not a huge audiophile but I've used quite a few systems. I tried to capture the sound as best as I could. Will try get that video up this week for you. 👍

Thanks! Have been hearing a lot of different things on the Burmester. I'm not the biggest audio guy and I was impressed when I tested it. Had no issues with low volume etc It was loud enough that I diden't make it to max volume. Very clean sound too. This was in the 2021 shooting brake. It was much different than some I've seen online which makes me think some people have defected systems. Really not sure, sounded great to me. I did take a recording of it in action that I need to put together as a video.

@@ABAUTOAMG I have the CLA45S Coupe. It’s not bad without a reference. Although when you compare it to Burmester in other models then you notice it. Clarity is there, loudness and bass in particular is poor given it’s an extra which you pay for depending on the region.

I have the 2014 CLA 45 with the upgraded audio system and honestly it is the least likeable thing about the car. The audio sound is not very good for the price of the system. You think they would have resolved that issue in 7 years.

@@douggreen980 You can tamper with the settings a bit if you understand audio from the dealer menu. You can get there by going to the settings screen and then swiping left 5 times, there are some videos online for this. Edit: Just saw that you have 2014. The above is for the 2020 (C118 and W118) models.

The c43 key looks exactly like my non AMG CLA 180 key

That's why the C43 is not a true AMG, and I say that with utter disappointment as a C43 owner. It's got nothing going for it except the sound. Otherwise it's just a more potent C400, it's not something born as an AMG => noticeable turbo lag, body roll despite very firm suspension, jerky and slow (or not fast enough) gearbox, uninspiring handling and feel.

@@moeymcbacon8604 Because unfortunately I based my decision on web reviews which praise this car, although I fail to understand why. The test drive was way too short and mainly on some straight roads so it wasn't good enough to figure it out. A mistake I will never repeat again.

CLA 45 is a true AMG built with the concept of one man one engine built by hand. C43 is just an AMG badging built on an assembly line. Ever since Mercedes changed it leadership the drive has been to slap an AMG tag on every car. And please don’t argue with me, if you should do your homework and or go to your local dealership and maybe you will be educated. Because I can already see cats who barely know the history of Mercedes replying back with comments about “it’s not a V8 or v12. Blah blah blah. That being said, the C43 is still a fine motor capable of pulling. It’s a benz of course. C43

Cla class it terrible, cheapest car you can get from Mercedes
