@@Cherez7511I just see this as a cover. It's transformative if you ask me as she changed the beat of the song. Think of this as a cover, or a tribute to Wu-Tang. Lyrics were faithful too, although most were taken out (I guess for explicit reasons).

CL to guest on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" on Sept. 15th!!!

Just wanted to put this out there; 1. Method Man heard that she was sampling his song and contacted her. He gave her permission and even made a cameo in the video. 2. A lot of the people in the video are her friends. She wanted a fun video and what better way than to have your friends there? She did not grow up in South Korea so her friends do not consist of mainly Korean people. 3. This is just one song by her. I'm sure she will eventually release other songs that might be better. This is actually tame for her considering her past songs. 4. CL is not a typical stick to one style person. Yes her song before this was a "in your face" song and this not. I don't think you should expect her to do something you expect. Rather, be prepared for unexpected stuff. Frankly, that makes me excited to know that she's going to surprise us but at the same time not know how.

I'm so overwhelmed. This video was filmed in my neighborhood, in the Bronx, originally where Hip-hop was born. Then we have Method Man dancing with her. This was a pleasant surprise for real! She released 2 songs, this one and hello bitches, but then nothing. Theres was a teaser of an mv she did but that never was released and neither was her album after 2 years of waiting. And why ? we dont know. Then minzy escaped from YG because they were sleeping on everyone. So she then came back in korea with the others 2 girls and made an album. That was finished and everything BUT then YG disbanded the band in 2016 before releasing anything. With no reasons.... Again! So has a goobye to 2ne1 fans they made a mv with basically no budget really with their recorded song "goobye" that was originally aimed for Minzy departured from 2ne1. Then its like CL is - ok then let me make my music then and release something... but nothing! CL posted some publications on hers socials letting us know she was getting frustrated with the fact that nothing was advancing in her music carreer. And then when her contract was to be resigned in 2019 but obviously she decide not to because they didnt let her do nothing for so long. I mean lets not forget that before all the kpop fever took all around the world, 2ne1 made selling records in america for kpop and we're getting well known. CL was said to be the second most influential person on the the planet by the TIME in 2015. She was about to blow all over with proper managment and promotions but yg never delivered.

I don't understand some people. She's making an american debut, not a kpop debut in america. So yes, it does not sound like kpop. At least give her chance. The american music industry is different than the kpop music industry. I personally think she will get more famous. I look forward to it! p.s. Briana Renee The lyrics are pretty much recycled from Method Man which is old school hip-hop/rap. Honestly, it does feel like just another generic mainstream song that has a catchy beat that people can dance to. However, it seems like that is the formula most used in the industry, thus if she wants to get recognized first, she has to make something that is "catchy." I assume that once she gets past that barrier, she will start mixing her own style in. But, like I said she has to get enough attention first.

I like the song. I won't lie, I was scared for her US debut knowing how critical ppl are here. But I like the song and Im glad she chose this song as her Debut bc it's mellow enough to listen to, easy on the ears, yet has a nice beat to vibe to. I was afraid that it might be something too extraordinary for Americans to listen to but I'm glad this was her song.

Of course not her best work bc we've all seen better and we know her potentials... But to look at the overall situation, this was and is the best choice to go by. Americans (besides american kpop lovers) usually have a hard time accepting outside/international artist such as Justin Bieber, Iggy, etc. so it's best to slowly ease her way into the American industry instead of getting hates from a hardcore song lol

WTF I just became a kpop fan in 2020 and instantly fell in love 2ne1. I did not know that Cl had this MV and Method Man is here!!

Comments are hilarious. 1. She's not a "try hard american". She was never the typical korean idol so don't act like she changed soo much. 2. "This is not her style bla bla bla" Did you even heard the first 2 lines of this song? Also, are you not allowed as a musician to try out everything you want? 3. "She's acting black" Is smoking, twerking and alcohol "black stuff" for you? If yes, then you are obviously racist. 4. "This is a rip-off from Method Man" He is in the fckn video! Do you really think he didn't allow her to sample it but is still filming an MV with her? Do you even think about what you are saying? 5. "She's the asian Iggy" HAHAHAHAHAHA. First things first CL writes her own lyrics. Lifted is not the best example since the most parts are sampled but she wrote many songs for 2NE1 (the band she's in). Her Korean lyrics are really awesome. You need to know that she speaks besides Korean, also 3 other languages. Even native rappers have problems with good lyrics so I think this is really good for someone who's not completely fluent in English. (her English is still very very good)
