CK3 Diplomacy Guide: Schemes, Alliances, Lifestyle Perks & Builds

Ойындар

Here is a somewhat in-depth guide of the Diplomacy and associated mechanics. I stay somewhat high level as the uses of each of these interactions are endless but should have some useful tips in here for beginner and advanced players alike.
The last portion of the video I take a look a the Diplomacy Perk trees and highlight a few perks and combinations that can be useful to any ruler.

    Anyone got any cool builds/perk combos? I like going intrigue but taking befriend from the Diplo tree. Having friends makes for nice plotters when its time to murder my rivals.

    You can also get a ton of stat points by cheesing the befriend scheme. There's a skill that gives you 2 random points per friendship. Potentially very powerful

    Befriend schemes can be a double edged sword, if you have a king with a stress gaining trait like paranoid, later in his life when his friends begin dying, his stress can be very difficult to manage. Great videos!

    Great vid! I've been looking for something like this. Have you thought about examining the martial lifestyle trees as well? I think a build focused on Chivalry would have a lot of RP value, in addition to more and powerful knights.

    I've got a quick vid on Dread in the works but wanted to follow it up with a look at the warfare mechanics and such. Would be a good place to see how the Martial Trees complement it.

    So I tried something like this. I played a tribal leader and grabbed praetorian guard which gave Prestige per night then switched back and went down the gallant tree. The extra Prestige allowed me to run more men af arms and combined with the addition knights it was very powerful.

    Diplomacy lifestyle is more on managing realms, improving vassal or dynasty opinion, accumulate prestige and forming alliances. It is way better than martial lifestyle whose only focus is war and force massive expansion.

    I'm with you sometimes the fun is in the decisions and the story it creates rather than battling. Though, for tribal leaders, the August tree gives Prestige so you can hire men at arms for more war.

    I've got an ally that is on the other side of the world map. I accepted his request to join the war, but since I can't send any troops that far, my contribution is 0, and now I'm stuck in a war I can not influence in any way. Is there a way around this, or should I always choose an ally that is physically very close, otherwise it's pointless.

  • @SmonteGaming

    @SmonteGaming

    3 жыл бұрын

    There is no direct "break alliance" decision in ck3 though you can always look to see what gives you said alliance, usually a child's marriage, and kill said spouse. You can also just declare war on the ally or kill the allied ruler.

  • @SmonteGaming

    @SmonteGaming

    The number in the top right "Domain" counts your direct holdings. If you are a king and grant a title to a duke or other vassal your Domain goes down accordingly, but, their territory is still considered within your realm. These counties/territories still count towards your total realm size for things like creating new titles or becoming the cultural head.
