Hopefully yes.

Before Caesar assassinated by Liberatores he reformed the republic, so for more historical accuracy you can change the government type from politeia to reformed republic (Octavian will be dictator as Caesar before him) and when you will defeat Antony and Cleopatra change it to Empire.

it's gonna be all about realism: colosseum(amphiteatrum flavium) was built later, colosseum comes from the nero's colossus in front of it(not stil there). Just maybe one of the many restoration the circus maximus had was made by Gaius Julius Caesar, so not totally out of context. So basically there should be no "Colosseum" and the Circus Maximus shouldn't be "top tier" at that moment.

This could be acool core feature of the mod. Just a scripted Civil War at certain size or imperium level for more challange since lategame can be a cakewalk.

Could be cool, but it would make politics virtually pointless. What's the benefit of managing politics when a civil war is inevitable? So yes, it's a nice idea, but it has drawbacks.

Cause this is historical after the assassination of Caesar, there was a Civil War that ended with Octavian becoming the first emperor of Rome. It's easy to provoke a civil war just piss off all political rivals. The map is divided to show the realm under Octavian at the start of the triumvirate.

Appreciate the videos! One question: If I position my infantry a certain way, lets say Triplex Axis, and want to move them while staying in Triplex Axis, what are the buttons for this? In Warhammer it's ALT + Left Click Hold + Drag, but it doesn't do this in Rome 2 for me. Thank you!

Could you do a Macedon campaign after this?

Just a quick question, for some reason, when you are in a campaign, the enemy army moves so professional and organized looking, for some reason, I use the same mods as you, the enemy army that I face, its completely messed up, and when I siege their forts, they always come out and fight, like its stupid, anyway you can tell me how I can fix this? Btw I love the video, very nice, just love the editing and intro you do at the start, maybe you should do a documentary about famous battles between the Romans and the Germanics people!

Thank you for the kind words. Usually in the fort scenario you highlighted, the AI will sally out if they feel you have a ranged advantage. This is even true for battles. This is why when you have an artillery piece and the enemy doesn't they will always try to close the gap, even if you are the one attacking. However, as you can see in this civil war, the legions of the opposing Triumviratus Romanus also have field artillery so they hold their position and instead force me to advance when I am on the offensive.

I have some questions out of curiosity: - Are you thinking about either beating the Parthians completely or getting to subjugate them? - Are you planning to control only the provinces the Romans historically had?

Will leave that to a vote, it might drag out the series though. My personal opinion, no I do not want to go so far East. I want to re-create the Roman Empire under its maximum extent as it was during the reign of Trajan.

In case the Parthians don't attack any of the provinces the Roman empire controlled historically, what you can do is going for the Parthians: attacking them in their territory but instead of taking their cities, you can liberate them in order to create divisions amongst the Parthians. It is likely the Parthians wouldn't be alone in the war against you. They might have allies who would join their war. I think Trajan didn't think going further to the East was a bad idea. But he decided not to carry it out because of his age. He wished he was younger so that he has the time for emulating Alexander's feats on the far east.

@@TWSummary I think fighting the Parthians ( Or also nomad factions or factions that resemble the Parthians ) in open filed battle can be a bit tricky sometimes because they usually bring many cavalry archers and melee cavalry units. You have to find a clever way of fighting the battles. In my case, I would try to first deal with the enemy cavalry archers and melee cavalry as well isolatedly from the enemy infantry melee units.

Heyy nice series. could you do a grand makedonian campaingn or some grand campaingn where you have to fight the OP rome AI. I really would like to see you beat Rome and carthage. I have tried multiple Makedonian Campaigns. even as Epirus. but destroying rome is 1 hell of a task. been in a face of atrrition playing anywhere close to rome. cant play the game normally without have to deal with rome. then only after rome is gone the game is playeble, and even then. if i do not defeat rome in a decent amout of turn they will send stack after stack from Taras to Appolonia and rome against the AI is just bulls and against sheep. with rome having so many buffs with replenishment and attrition or casualties after battles. Then when I do capture Latium and Magna Graecia. Securing the province from my neighbours and carthage. it al makes a tough experience. its make me sad cause it is a great overaul. dont get me wrong. just rome is OP ASF. and not fun. if you chose not to do this campaign for this reason. could you inform the devs and ask them to get a vote to Nerf rome and make the rome DEI more fun as the Greek factions.

Can't fight all 4 legions at once as the maximum units allowed in the battle is 41, however that being said you can fight a 4v4 battle, but with reinforcements slowly entering the battle field as units rout.

After you put an end to the civil war, you should try to lower your influence in the Senate to either "Balanced" or to "Respected in the Senate" because higher levels than those cause negative effects such as less loyalty, public order deterioration per turn and other negative effects. Unless you installed a submod that changes that ( If it exists )

Yes, throughout the episode, I was working towards decreasing it. This is how I will go about it. 1. Reduce it to "66 to 70" by the end of the Civil War to convert the government into an empire. 2. Reduce it further to "40 to 50" for the best buffs.

@@TWSummary I think it is realistic that you get negative effects when you have an influence higher than "Respected in the Senate" because the polititians from other parties in real life wouldn't feel comfortable that you have a very big influence in the Senate.

@@canal7543 Agreed. It does make playing Rome always depend on maintain the delicate balance of power. Afterall Roman civil wars were more frequent during the Empire than during the Republic.

Is there an effective strategy to minimise empire maintenance in the mid-late game? I was playing as Antonius (imperator Augustus) and, no matter how many technologies I research, libraries I build, or skills I upgrade my dignitaries/politicians/generals with, my empire maintenance is still a crippling 80%+. Having just taken the Italian peninsula and Sicily from Octavius, my treasury can only support 3 armies and 1 navy, leaving me overstretched. I had to of course leave one army in Antioch to stop Parthian expansion, whilst the other two are in Cisalpina and Sicily.

Yes, most character ranks have empire maintenance reduction bonuses. Also, you can get character and dignitary skills to further drop empire maintenance. Stack buildings that give empire maintenance reduction like sanitation buildings and also libraries. Lastly, technology in the diplomatic tree also reduces empire maintenance while granting bonuses to tax rate, super powerful. (Female characters can rank up to level 4 to get the empire maintenance reduction as well)

@Santro-Maximus go to either the land units table or the main units table under the dB folder. They should have a column "campaign cap" change it to "0" which means unlimited any non zero digit is a limit.

It isn't a spawned army. It is an army that switched sides and joined the Civil War faction. The leaders of those armies the historical ones are modded in.
