"I'm just gonna sit here. This will be the most boring playthrough ever." Girl, no. Spending like five minutes at that bench is just the Hollow Knight experience. We love Quirrel, we love the rain and the City of Tears theme. I promise you so many players share your sentiments.

They literally place him there at the bench to tell the player it's ok to just rest and enjoy the moment as long as you want. It is still my favorite moment in the entire game, the subtle blue, the rain, and the music pouring into me far more than any other area of the game.

Agreed, after seeing so many playthroughs where people blow through or ignore dialog and wind up having no idea what's going on, it's a breath of fresh air to see someone take their time with it and really pay attention to all the little details. It just doesn't feel like a complete experience without those quiet moments.

Hey, about the bit of where the rain comes from and the fact that city is in a cavern in 41:30.. now, it's not said anywhere in the game, but in an interview with Team Cherry they said the entire game is underground, even Dirtmouth is in a bigger cavern. And.. that's kind of common for many kinds of bugs I suppose? Being so small and living your entire life in a big cavern, and you feel like, it's your whole world.. you can't travel across all of it, so the caverns are infinite as far as you're concerned... If you ever went to the surface, would you ever recognize it as "outside"? Or will it just a bigger cavern for you? Except that.. at the surface everything is so bright! Being born in a cavern, the sun has never been your friend.. it's blinding out there and the wind is so strong it can carry you like a tornado! But things down here are nice and comfy and dark.. no you don't want to go out. There's nothing out there.

You falling into Deepnest after having also found the mantis lords entrance is the funniest thing ever. For me, it was a little anti-climatic, as I first entered throught the mantis lords gate and then went back out near the pit, instead of dying right before it like you did last part. So when the ground collapsed, I was just like:..Really, deepnest? That's the worst you can throw at me? 38:46 When I first saw this message, I immediately went back up to check if that was actually the case. I didn't notice that it closed down behind me. 44:39 That single second is the peak of Hollow Knight. When the title of the area appears, when you're finally outside the walls, and when the music gets even better. 1:46:41 While playing a room randomizer of this game, I ended up here, without having done the soul master fight. The result is that the second phase started and I heard him over me trying to crush me.

If you enter the treasure chamber of Mantis Village before you defeat the lords the lad inside smacks the lever in front of him which slams a door in your face. It's simultaneously one of the most hilarious and most infuriating things in the game. He opens it again after you earn their respect. A little hint: you already have the means to uncover the secrets of those weird shells in the Fungal Wastes! You just need to realize how. I can see why you just wanna sit down and enjoy the atmosphere - it's bloody brilliant. It's amazing to imagine that the vast majority of this game was done by just four people, including one bloke - Christopher Larkin - composing and producing all the music. (There's one point where the track has vocals, they did hire a professional singer for that, but ya know, still.) The City of Tears is really serene, at least until you get hit by the *AGGRESSIVE ORGAN MUSIC* in the Sanctum. You'll like the place where the water comes from, too. Speaking of water... ☔

Omg this episode was amazing!!! Your reaction to falling back into Deepnest was so funny it had me in tears, it really is hell on Hallownest. Continually shocked by how well you pick up on new boss fights, going up against the soul warrior I was convinced it would kill you (as it did me on my first time through) but you dispatched it with only one mask of damage. Then taking on Soul Master with such grace was just incredible, he's my favourite boss and to see you enjoy that fight was a pleasure. Also, I have to ramble about this or else I'll explode. Hollow Knight is one of my favourite pieces of media ever and there isn't a day goes by where I don't wish I could experience it all again for the first time. The closest I can get it is watching other people play the game. I already convinced my best friend to play months ago and was lucky enough to be able to watch as she did, so now finding your channel and this series has been such a blessing. I legit got quite emotional when you entered City of Tears for the first time as you reacted almost identically to how I did over a year ago now. That location is my favourite in the whole game and has a really special place in my heart. The atmosphere, art and especially the music are all perfection. I own the piano sheet music book and regularly play City of Tears, it helps me feel at peace. So seeing you take a moment to soak it all in and appreciate everything really hit home. So glad there are still people experiencing this beautiful game for the first time and loving it. Sorry for the long comment, not expecting anyone to read it, more just a bit of therapy to get my feelings out there. Still, can't wait for the rest of this series. Love you, Amber ☔️ (platonically, of course)

I can't stress enough how much you are just a perfect videogame player (or maybe you're just a perfect person, i really don't know you but...well, it could be that as well): you empatize with the feels the game is trying to make you feel and you're also skilled as hell, i've never saw someone playing hollow knight smiling basically all the time and also easily doing soul master on the first try. Soul master is not, of course, a complicated boss fight, but with the little experience and very few (if none) upgrades that usually a player has when he meets him, it's usually not an easy first try. You, playing videogames on youtube? A blessing. Really, thanks!

And when you were so happy to see Cornifer... that's all of us, right there. I've lost count of how many times I rejoiced upon hearing his humming. Bare bones may his maps be, but the help SO MUCH. Then the Soul Sanctum and defeating the Soul Master first try. You are a good player. Your journey is barely taking off, and soon you'll have to brave the dark depths of Deepnest. Loving your playthrough, you're doing very well for your first time (soul master is a hard ceiling for lots of players). Also, yes! you have so many places to explore now, you can go use that key at the bottom of city, there are lots of places you can use desolate dive to access, you can go buy lantern and explore the dark room in crossroads, and a couple more options I won't spoil away :) Keep it up! also never apologize for sitting and enjoying the music. The soundtrack for this game is AMAZING. And remember we can always just skip forward if we don't want to see it (I stayed, City's theme is very pretty). Also now that you have access to Lemm (relic guy), geo will really stop being a problem, he's the best way to get lots of cash very fast. Feel free to buy anything you get people to sell you (including lantern, and yes it will be important, you're not crazy). A real joy to experience this again, almost for the first time, with someone so observant and appreciative of the art, music and game design. Thanks Amber, we’re all having lots of fun.

I actually quite Likes the pace of the episode. Also it continues to baffle and delight me how effortlessly great you seem to be at my favourite Games, Hope you keep having fun with them 🧡 ☂️

What makes her skill all the more noticeable is that she's constantly freaking out even when she's demolishing her opponentXD
