Source govt press information bureau(PIB), NITI. 2025 target 740 cr litres ethanol to be sourced from food grains maize and rice (mostly broken) So 370 cr litres from rice 1 litre production of ethanol required 2.22kg rice(PIB) So 370 cr litres required 370×2.22=821.4 cr kg Which is =82.14 lakh tonnes of rice In 20-21 rice production is 129mn tonnes=12.9cr tonnes Annual requirement for NFSA is 35 mn tonnes Additional PMGKY requirement is 17.5 mn tonnes Total annual requirement=35+17.5=52.5 mn tonnes But FCI procurement is 60mn tonnes 2021 our rice exports 21.187 mn tonnes So total rice balance sheet in 2021 is 129--60--21.187=46.813 mn tonnes This 46.813 mn tonnes is rice surplus The requirement of rice to produce 370cr litres ethanol (740 cr litres 50:50 ratio from both rice and maize) just 8.214 mn tonnes=82.14 lakh tonnes Which is just 8.214÷46.813=17.5% of whole country rice surplus production My question is who will buy this remain 46.8--8.2==36.6 mn tonnes rice If you have a concern for paddy farmers first show better buyer for this surplus rice Ethanol production is alternate procurement scheme for rice it will secure the farmers income It will save 30000 cr forex reserves per year

Source govt press information bureau(PIB), NITI. 2025 target 740 cr litres ethanol to be sourced from food grains maize and rice (mostly broken) So 370 cr litres from rice 1 litre production of ethanol required 2.22kg rice(PIB) So 370 cr litres required 370×2.22=821.4 cr kg Which is =82.14 lakh tonnes of rice In 20-21 rice production is 129mn tonnes=12.9cr tonnes Annual requirement for NFSA is 35 mn tonnes Additional PMGKY requirement is 17.5 mn tonnes Total annual requirement=35+17.5=52.5 mn tonnes But FCI procurement is 60mn tonnes 2021 our rice exports 21.187 mn tonnes So total rice balance sheet in 2021 is 129--60--21.187=46.813 mn tonnes This 46.813 mn tonnes is rice surplus The requirement of rice to produce 370cr litres ethanol (740 cr litres 50:50 ratio from both rice and maize) just 8.214 mn tonnes=82.14 lakh tonnes Which is just 8.214÷46.813=17.5% of whole country rice surplus production My question is who will buy this remain 46.8--8.2==36.6 mn tonnes rice If you have a concern for paddy farmers first show better buyer for this surplus rice Ethanol production is alternate procurement scheme for rice it will secure the farmers income It will save 30000 cr forex reserves per year

@@himajabobba3023 As per Indian metrological department forecasting this year mansoon rain fall had been below the normal considering this forecasting to containing raise of rice price in domestic market and also to having more stock in domestic market so all these factors consider by government of India.India restricted rice export not only rice last year wheat export also banned.some time climatic circumstance will dictate our agriculture trade policy.we having to look comprehensively ...Think multi dimensionally.single dimension and parochial thinking will always corrept your mind

Thanks for a sensible comment. I seriously don't understand the protest here. I understand that companies are taking their water but how come using rice can be a bad thing for farmers? They can have good income. Correct me if i am wrong.
