It was sad, really. They were better than this against Michigan in Indianapolis. Then their coach left and at least 1-2 players opted out, thus LSU nuked them. Purdue probably wouldn't have won at full strength either, but it likely would have been a more respectable performance.

As a Purdue fan, I stopped watching after the first five minutes. I had no hope in them I knew it was gonna be a blowout.😂

Props to Perdue #76 on the 99 yard pick six at the end. He was trying to catch the DB the whole way down the field and didn't give up even though he didn't have the speed.

Nabers is gonna be the next great lsu wr. He has exploded this year and you can see the chemistry between him and jayden continue to grow. Excited for next year.

Its so fun watching him grow. He was my favorite player in my ncaa14 season i recently played with current rosters. Dude broke the career receiving records for the team. Hopefully the real nabers does the same!

Yes, I agree. Look LSU was going to win regardless - they obviously have the superior talent. But, to be fair, it’s important to know that Purdue’s QB and 2 top receivers chose not to play in the game - completely decimating any chance to perform offensively. Even just moving the ball and allowing the defense to get some rest between series would have probably lead to a more respectable outcome (35-14 or something). Purdue defense was exhausted by the end of the first quarter and you can recover from that. Us Purdue fans knew it was going to be ugly - just hoped it wouldn’t have been this ugly. But it’s really a non-factor for either team in their true capabilities. Maybe in a couple years Purdue can give them a game - but I won’t hold my breath. Basketball anyone? 😂

Lol.. let’s act like lsu wasn’t missing their best player since week 1 Maason Taylor our #1 receiver Boutte 2 corners who sat out for draft at an already depleted position. A linebacker who played about 70% of the time even tho he didn’t start.. Sevyn Banks our starting rb Amari Goodwin but yeah man if Purdue had all their guys 😂😂😂😂😂

As a Big 10 fan, this was a rough one to watch. Props to LSU for showing up ready to play, they looked flawless

It's a shame that LSU got caught with their pants down against TAMU, and an even bigger shame they got hammered so badly in the rankings afterwards. Obviously they deserved a better matchup than this. Also luv that Tulane beat USC. That's right, let that sink in!

It will be interesting to see how things pan out with the removal of East/West divisions in the SEC where just the top two go to the SEC champ game, but LSU has a real shot of being in that top two mix next year anyway and making a potential playoff run even. A lot of positives with this team.

Rough day for Purdue , 63-7 in the bowl game and loss to Rutgers in basketball as the #1 on their home court

What a beat down!!! Purdue looked like children playing an NFL team!!! Outworked, outplayed and outclassed on the gridiron!!! Their cheerleaders where standing there in complete shock 😲😲😲 before the Boilermakers scored their only TD!!! The disbelief on the young ladies faces were priceless!!!

Purdue is a finesse team and finished first in a very weak and down B1G West. Wisconsin and Minnesota had an off year. Either one of those teams, with their bigger lines and more traditional B1G play, would have put up a better fight vs. LSU (although LSU would still have won).

​@@80sports20they definitely would have put up a better fight, but LSU would have beaten 75% of the country by multiple TDs in the bowl game because they were rested. LSU still had a bad depth problem and was without many players like Purdue. LSU's defense had worn down all year. Not only did they lack depth, because of that, they had to play many starters on special teams which double worked them. Any other Big Ten West team would have still lost by 20+. LSU really played around all this game.

FSU vs LSU 2023 is going to be such a fun match up.

LSU's 5-2 all-time in bowl games against the Big Ten. Purdue is 2-4 all-time in their bowl games against the SEC.

Definitely something to build on next season.

Purdue was missing: all big ten QB, all big ten TE, all american WR (accounted for 40% of passing yards), WR2, all big ten C and RG, starting linebacker, CB1, DL1, head coach, OC, DC, TE coach, WR coach, DL coach and linebacker coach They were playing with QB3, which is a bit better than what LSU had to work with against K. State. LSU is missing people too, I don't know who though. But no one is taking these bowl games seriously.

Predue scored on 2nd and 3rd stringers. LSU was like an NFL team playing a high school team.

That was nowhere near the same team at that point as this LSU team now. The chemistry and state of the coaching staff's new system were miles away from as developed as they are now. If LSU were to play FSU right now, I have a feeling it would look very similar to what they did to Purdue.

What a season LSU had in they ended off on a good note in this Bowl Game against Purdue.

You can tell that a few of the Purdue players just gave up in the second quarter. This was a brutal demolition that should've included last rites.

Very close to owning the bowl win margin record, they tied it!

I kind of wondered if LSU was too powerful to be a good opponent for Purdue, but this was an annihilation. It looked like a CFP-bound team vs a 6-6 squad. Bet the Citrus Bowl wasn't too thrilled about it, all those fans and TV viewers leaving early means less revenue.

good season for Brian Kelly indeed. I am a B1G Guy and it hasn't been a good Bowl season for this conference this year.. Two B1G teams making it to the playoff and losing, Altho the Buckeyes and Georgia was an outstanding game.. Buckeye proving they'll always belong against the SEC.

Not necessarily, Georgia sent its entire defense to the draft and was not the favorite coming into this year. Ohio State actually was one of the favorites coming into the year because they were returning a lot and still didn’t win.

Yeah I didn't expect this game to be close, I don't think very many people did. Purdue lost a lot of talent last year with Korlaufus and Bell going to the NFL. This really was a rebuilding year for them considering they don't get very many five-star or four-star recruits

Yeah, LSU hasn't played Tulane since 2009, which ended a yearly rivalry since 1893. LSU is due to play USC, since both were co-champions in 2003.

Haven't seen something like this in 3 years

Not sure how an unranked Purdue was picked to square off against a 17th ranked and top-tier SEC team. Granted they finished first in the much weaker B1G West, but this was a mismatch from the start. A more traditional B1G team like Wisconsin or Minnesota would have matched up better against an SEC team like this.

Since the 1978 Sugar Bowl and now the SEC is 61-32 against the Big Ten in bowl games. Not counting the wins Nebraska and Penn State had against the SEC. before joining the Big ten. Question is why do Big Ten fans keep trash talking the S. E. C.

Good job LSU coaching staff and great job LSU players. Maybe bk will appreciate his players and be involved unlike previous teams he's been with..... Good first yr. Just be prepared to hit that ceiling and be stuck.

Purdue didn't play with their 3 best offensive players and who accounted for ALL their offense. Plus their head coach. You did know that right. Also Purdue lost two games on the very last play of the game twice. Penn St and Syracuse because of their terrible DB's. Purdue wasn't really that good this year because of their defense. The very reason they hired the architect of one of the best if not the best defense in the nation. Can't take anything from LSU. I personally think they were better than Michigan however, there is a reason they didn't play for the national title. Right?

@@huntertrum3658 Not making excuses. Purdue was never going to beat LSU. National Champion 2020 correct? Our top guys are walk ons. You have 4 star guys sitting. Excuses will come from your coach. Thats all he did at ND and thats what you will get.

@@curtisthompson8488 LSU lost four game this season. Never once heard BDK make any negative comments about his players and effort given in any of them. ie... throwing the players under the bus. ND fans said that a lot. Never heard any so called excuses from the head coach. Most of it was "have to do a better job coaching."

@@fredpitre2199 Yes, we have to do a better job coaching. excuse 1, So and so had a hang nail. Excuse 2. Refs called a bad game excuse 3. Thats just what we saw in Indiana. Maybe he won't pull that in Baton Rouge or wherever y'all are from.

The SEC is top heavy, but we would be top heavy in any conference. Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and LSU would be on top of any conference.

It's actually wild that whoever runs this channel finds a way to have a play shown twice in every single video... I'd almost consider it a talent at this point.

Whew. Tigers showed off. Their momentum increased the whole year. Not to take anything from Purdue---they too had a memorable season. If anyone has ever played football scholastically, another team can roll over you if they continue to capitolize on mistakes of others, and minimize their own.

Fun facts: Todd Graves, founder of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, was a boilermaker in California before going to Alaska as a fisherman to raise money to open his first restaurant at the front of LSU on August 28, 1996. The restaurant was named after his yellow lab, Raising Cane I. Also, a player on LSU is named Cain (notice the spelling), who scored 2 touchdowns. Coincidences?

So…Purdue loses their coach…loses their top two players and LSU runs up the score to 63…And apparently that’s fine…Last year, LSU lost their coach, had opt outs and KSU decided to takes their foot off the gas after running up the score to 40…And LSU fans were screaming and crying about KSU’s poor sportsmanship…I’m a little confused 😂😂😂😂 but LSU looked phenomenal in this game…Football fans are weird man 😂

As an Iowa fan this almost makes me glad we lost that last game to Nebraska🤣 I don't think we'd have fared any better.

It's unfortunate that the same LSU lost to a terrible A&M team.

Lsu was missing a lot of people in the a&m game. A&M also had got there star rb back. The running back was the only reason texas A&M put up points. And it makes sense when you realize that lsu only had 3 d line man that have played the whole year. Only three.

LSU had about 25 players Opt out, Portal, or Injured?? For this game also. Bowl games with teams that are missing half their roster is what we have now I guess
