CITROEN, PEUGEOT, DS DPF CLEANING

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

What a job! Cleaning the dpf is a pain in the rear end! However, I enjoyed it. This dpf is identical to dpf in Peugeot and DS hence the title. It is very easy to remove and install it. As usual the details are on the video and please if you see error tell us.

    You are a noble gentleman to be producing such pioneering public service tutorials. A hard worker too to be driving the taxi as your main work, then doing your own mechanicing to preserve the wages you have earned for your family. You a top fellow, Sir. Kind regards.

    Good job, I took mine off and then stood it up, filled it up with Mr Muscle oven cleaner and left it over night. Hose piped it out the next day and all the crud came out. That was 5 years ago and the light has just come on again so I know What I will be doing this week. The same again.

    Hi, you are a star, followed your really helpful advice on my old faithful 308 1.6 Hdi (2011) with 56000 on the clock, low mileage as i live less than a mile from work (short journeys) over the last 6 years and the car has been playing up limp mode, warning filter clogged for the past 2 years but has limped on by the rare longish trips & using additives added to the fuel tank every other fill. The issue i had was the car is undriveable after 10 minutes, popping & clanging, preventing me from a long drive, so a couple of months ago it got so bad it took me over half an hour to get home from work, i thought the engine was going to explode, eventually limping down a slight gradient into our drive where it has remained for the last couple of months destined for the scrap heap. I have been walking to & from work for a month as the sun has been out & a month ago i bought my sons cast off, it's petrol so no dpf problems. I came across your video on yt & as i am on holiday from work this week & not doing much i thought i would give it a go as you make it look sooo easssy. it's not!!! it took me longer to get the undertray off than the dpf itself lol... the undertray won't be going back on as 3 bolts have sheared. I found a large bucket (the wife's planter pot) i've not told her yet lol & put 4 dishwasher tablets, those with the red ball in the middle & filled with hot water, dumped the dpf into that & waited for a while for the tablets to work their magic, whilst waiting i checked out your part 2, follow up video & decided to go straight for the pressure washer after 26 minutes in my dishwasher tab's potion, with great success, as the pressure washer did it's stuff & launched over 10 years of soot over myself, once composed & prepared for the on coming further drenching i was to endure for the next hour, dpf running clear water, i re assembled said dpf & cranked the old girl back into life. No warning lights on dashboard, unusual..... after 20 minutes on tickover i cautiously exited the prison that had been the old girl's grave yard, still with no warning lights on the dashboard, i headed for the main road, my knuckles gripping the steering wheel so tight, waiting for the limp home & engine lights to re appear but for the next 45 minutes drive all was well, i even took a trip on the motorway during this time & the old girl has never ran so well, responsive & behaving herself for a change, i even gave her body a drenching to wash away months of green growth that had built up in places from her standing dormant. Sorry this is a bit long winded, i really want to thank you for taking time to make this guide as it has been a life saver for the old girl / person lol........... A word to people who are in / were in the same boat as i, follow the guidance of this wise man & save your car from the scrap heap......

    Good video....I have just done my 2012 Berlingo DPF....I cleaned it but when I had done that I could see into the exhaust part of the DPF that the core was coming apart....I bought a new one for £150....I think it probably is not worth cleaning the old ones given the price and the work involved in removal/refitting.....But good luck to anyone who does it anyway....Refilling Eolys tank is my next challenge.....

Recently had a message pop up saying ‘risk of particulate filter blockage’ followed by engine management light coming on as well as the service light. Yes it will clean the (dpf) diesel particulate filter. Actually that's how it suppose to work. Whenever it is recycling itself, don't switch off the engine. As time goes on, the dpf will need to be removed and properly cleaned. DIY cleaning is not perfect. The best is taking it to dpf cleaning companies because they use extremely high pressure to push all the rubbish out. All the best 👍

    Interesting video.... BUT..... The purpose of the filter is to collect/burn all the bad stuff. So when you clean it, and let all the waste water and particles run straight out on the ground, i get really sad....

  • @fix-and-drive-diy-repairs

    @fix-and-drive-diy-repairs

    That's just how it is brother. Regeneration or forced regen burns all the bad stuff but it creates rust(red stuff) and that results in the filter being blocked. You have 2 options, to buy a new filter or clean the old one. So I choose cleaning because to make a new filter, lots of stuff needs to be burned creating more bad stuff. To avoid bad stuff completely, walking or a horse is the answer.
