Haters know nothing about cars. This is a sub-zero car, and the only SUV-ish thing out there I like. All of its components (including the utterly underpowered engine) are there in perfect harmony and they only make sense as a whole. It's a car meant to be driven calmly, enjoying its comfort and space, rather than fiddling with a gazillion of options in the infotainment to select the song you want. Hats off to Citroën for making original cars again.

I Have just come to the Internet for some love of the Cactus and everyone hates it!! - I have literally just got back from a test drive in one and it was stunning! the one I am looking at is Black with dark grey wheels and looks a lot more normal than the yellow or green. the car itself is a marvel of design and far far far better than my current 2005 Audi A4 Tdi to drive! 91 MPG and free road tax in the UK too....

Instead of making the Cactus look like all the other models in the range (like some manufacturers do when making an SUV), Citroen has made something unique. I've seen it drive by on the highway and I like it. Although I wouldn't choose the greenish yellow paint...

This is a big(ish) family SUV that weighs less than a ton and with the trick diesel engine gets 3.8l/100km in town. Like I know it's Top Gear so nobody cares about not ruining the planet but this isn't some indifferently slapped together Dacia, this is serious next level car engineering.

Cactus is the most amazing design of a generation, it's up there with the Panhard PL17, Matra Rancho, 306 cabriolet and DS7 in terms of its haute couture avant-gardism and Frenchness. People are often in the French or German camp, German cars have loads of problems, recalls and issues, Mercedes for example notorious for rust. When did you last see a rusty Renault Laguna? This is a brilliant piece of television, if only they had stuck to this plot rather than those three lame bumbling private school idiots who will wreck any car for fun.

Some cars are hard to service, therefore called bad cars. I had 1 BMW, 2 Renault and now and Alfa Romeo. This is the exact order on how easy they are to service. No big issue with any of them, The BMW I bought with 321.000km (petrol engine) and sold it with 390.000. First Renault bought it new, still have it, the second bought it with 80.000 km (now 123.000) still have it and the Alfa with 149.000 (recently). None of them, although notorious, had any major problem. Cars are in essence good, but because of lazy mechanics (used to repair stuff by replacing parts only), have forgotten that sometimes you really need to get dirty. A car is as good as your maintenance.

***** It is also cheap to maintain and has a great mileage per gallon. The thing is, minors that do not actually drive and those stuck in that mentality compare it to $50k dollar Sports Cars. It is a crossover, if anything compare it at least to a BMW X6. 6 C4s or 1 X6? Other cars in that price range and car type like Dacia Duster is the only thing a individual car can reasonably be compared to.

Beautiful footage, but somehow it´s weird to take the Cactus to Iceland, all the panels and the concept has evolved around cars in the City - All the panels protect against the usual scratches one gets having a car in the City. In any case I really like the Cactus because it is one of those cars that stay very true to it´s initial concept - We don´t get so many of theses usually. IMO it looks fresh and contemporary while maintaining a lot of personality - Well done Citroen.

I honestly don't understand all the hate. I think the car's futuristic to look at and quite pretty in my opinion. The door-panels are clearly designed with city parking in mind and no, it's not going to impress anyone with off-road driving I think, unless they fit a decent engine, AWD and a good gearbox. The ground-clearance increased is also a good idea. Citroen has made a name for itself by building cars that are what some people call "retro", "funky", "weird" and even "ugly". Some of these words were probably used to describe the Citroen DS once, now it's considered one of the best cars ever made. I'm glad Citroen is taking a step back and creating something different again, it's who they are, I think. Oh, and for all of you who are upset because there was no Clarkson, Hammond or May in this video: Grow the f*** up and move on.
