    Thanks Eric. This is one of the fullest and most clear reviews (pros and cons, especially) that I have ever watched on KZread. I am primarily interested in a watch that is easy-to-read (especially the date and day indicators. I am severely near-sighted), reliable, and nearly indestructible (I drop and bang watches), especially with the crystal. Great review.

    Great review! This style watch by Citizen has been on my radar lately. This one, the BM0118 and the BM6400 have all been getting a lot of attention lately. Availability may play a factor in my final decision but I hope to eventually add one to my collection. 👍🏼

    Greetings from The Netherlands. This is a splendid video. I have this watch. It's marketed in the EU as: *BM8560-11XE.* I managed to pick it up for €160. It's a lovely watch, I've had no issues with any sharp edges. Its titanium construction, makes it ridiculously lightweight. When I put is on, it's like it's not on my wrist. The day/date window could be a little larger, or left out completely. The dark khaki face is very distinctive. It accentuates the numerals/markers really well. The lume is great too. The leather strap is very high quality, even though it has the texture and flexibility of cast iron out of the box. This is easily remedied, with a liberal application of a quality clear leather conditioner. All leather straps will need some sort of routine maintenance to keep them supple. It's a good idea to have some leather conditioner as part of a cleaning and maintenance kit. It can take seriously heavy handling really well too. It always looks like it was just purchased. I love it.

    I’m going through a period of infatuation for ecodrives. This model (with bracelet and black dial) has been in my Amazon chart for so long that I expect a sign reading “what the heck are you waiting for? Just buy it already!” To appear on the screen the next time I check it! But maybe I should wait and buy a radio controlled one, like, a NightHawk? Really good and thorough review as usual, thank you!

    Hello LIS. Eco drive is a really good technology and I like the idea of not having to replace a battery every couple years. I have a night Hawk but it’s not radio controlled. My Seiko coutura is radio sync. I don’t think I would buy that technology again. I’m having issues with it syncing and then it’s hard to pin down exactly what the issue is.

    @@EricsEverydayWatches thanks for the answer! Too bad to hear that radio control doesn’t work properly on your seiko. I have two Casio G-shock squares with multi band 6 and they receive the signal almost every night. Last week I spent a few days in Austria and the G-shock had no problem whatsoever getting the signal (probably because it was closer to the German atomic clock antenna). My father has had a citizen eco drive radio controlled for the past five or six years and he gets the signal every night without fail. On the other hand, these eco drives are so accurate that one doesn’t really need the synchronization… it’s fun to have it, though! Did I miss your review of the night hawk?

Makes me appreciate simple watches more. 😁

    Have been looking at this model for the past few weeks among others as a next watch purchase. My search on Amazon shows two deceptively similar looking versions of it at significantly different prices. The model BM8560-11X is $180; has a 41mm case that merely says it’s titanium; and has a 21mm lug width The model BM8560-02X is $280; has a 42mm case that does state is ‘super titanium’; and has a 22mm lug width. The former also says the dial color is gray which is why I hate Amazon with a passion - they’re very prone to errors like that. In any event, good review; new sub; and was wondering exactly what model yours is. Kind of baffling that Citizen would offer two variants so close in specs.

    Hello Ogenmatic. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I appreciate it. The model numbers and listing online is super confusing. For my review I had the 02x version. It seems implausible that citizen would offer the same watch with such little difference. I just looked at the Citizen Europe website, and they offer a 11 XE model that also states super titanium. all three versions are listed as having sapphire crystal. Confusing for sure. This is why I always buy from a place that has a good return policy.

    I have the titanium strap version. Excellent knock around watch super light - don’t even notice it on the wrist. Easy to read - quartz accurate, scratch resistant sapphire and essentially infinite power as long as you leave it in light. I have no issues with the edges. The only things I would like to see a bit better are a domed crystal/anti-reflective coating and a screw down crown with guards. But those are minor issues given the price. A watch to wear the $hit out of - working on the car, laying paving stones or running the chainsaw.

  • @wristroll_vlad

    @wristroll_vlad

    It is not “self healing” LOL… Titanium is a very reactive metal, it oxidizes spontaneously in the air. The oxide layer formed becomes very protective and waterproof and its thickness increases slowly, which sometimes makes it possible to attenuate these scratches, if you decide not to repolish. Perhaps that’s what you meant.

    Hello ghatzidakis. I think you’ll enjoy the watch. I would wear it for activities, like biking, etc. as far as a one watch collection it depends on your definition. If the watch suits YOU perfectly (min 7:32) we congratulate you, but OUR problem would be to know a very important parameter for US: the length of the bracelet and the circumference of your wrist, which you don't give us. With these parameters, we would have been able to assess whether the strap was long enough. As for Japanese and Chinese watches, their bracelets are generally TOO short for Western wrists.
