i just bought the black dial/green bezel model with metal bracelet. looks clean, comfy, accurate, cheap, HELL this watch is a treasure in terms of bang for buck. better then SKX on the wrist.

I have two, one black dial, one full lume green, the green does not come out of my watch cabinet, I wear my black one for tough outdoor outings, I disliked the rubber strap, so wanted to give it a different look so I fitted a good quality super engineer with straight end links, which gives it a somewhat aggressive no compromise military appearance, almost like a 1960,s military watch, this might be quite a fair comment, because it was used famously by the Italian navy divers and in that guise was termed "Marine Militar" as stated on the dials of the ones commissioned into service by the Italians.

I think the reason those watches wear so big on small wrists is because of the 22mm lug width while the citizen has 20mm

You are correct. They are still readily available in Italy. I bought mine recently and wasn't charged any customs charges as I live in the EU.

@Kshitij Agrawal The hour markers are a pale green colour and this is because they have lume on them. Google that word if you don't know what it means. The day window is in both english and some other language, possibly italian. You can choose which language you want.

I'm guessing the reason the Citizen wears better than the SKX009, despite having longer lugs, is because it is slightly thinner. Does that sound right?

For me they both wear great! Citizen wears a bit better due to 20mm bracelet instead of 22mm Seiko bracelet. Citizen is a bit thinner. Lug to lug of Seiko is shorter. Still, overall, for my 6.3 inch Citizen NY0040, Seiko SKX013 or Seiko Mini / Baby Turtle wear better than Seiko SKX007...

Hi, that is a great question. You can’t go wrong with any of these dials in my opinion. I personally think the black dial is more versatile. The blue is a bit more special. I recently also bought the black dial version. mine is in the -5+5 range. so really good stuff. she's likes to be winded. i'd say once per week helps to maintain excellent accuracy. at least mine acts like a perfectly normal auto movement. slow on low spring charge and fast on charged spring. in the -5+5. for 200 bucks, it's no brainer for sure. i don't even hear the rotor while i do my things. you hav to stick your ear close to hear it. which is not really happening on a daily basis.

I bought the Citizen recently. I like the watch, but when you give it a shake you can really hear the mechanism inside rattling. Is that the case with them generally-has anyone else had this experience?

Watch Out is normal..myota movement rotates one direction and indeed is loud. I find it charming

From the watch dealer where I bought it. I won’t recommend the metal bracelet. The original silicon strap by Citizen is much better.

Mine has hacking with the 8204 a movement.

I collect mainly mechanical watches especially Seiko 5s . I've been watching your channel for over a year, and would like to thank you for the good advice and of course the great videos that you provide!

Thank you very much sir for your kind words. Perhaps the caseback does not correspond with the movement?! Is the movement number displayed on the watch dial (6 o clock position in small print)?! Currently I have two Seiko 5 watches: they are great value for money 😄

Citizen BN0151-09L looks almost identical but it is Eco-Drive which is much more accurate. Automatic watches are oldfashioned!

Missing the point a little I think. Automatic watches are precision instruments that are valued for just that, plus their longevity in being able to be passed down through generations. A crappy £50 quartz fashion watch probably keeps more accurate time than many automatics, but in 10 years it will be in landfill. Eco drives I agree are great, I have one, not missed a beat in 10 years, but citizen state the solar cell and battery have an 10 year life expectancy, so what then? They are not expensive watches so I can see them being discarded rather than repaired.

The lume on these watches (Orient Ray 2, Seiko SKX009 and Citizen NY0040) are all outstanding. The main difference is the color scheme. Some look more greenish and some look more yellowish. I find them to be similarly bright and long lasting. I haven’t tested them side by side however. There are lume tests videos on KZread however.

To my understanding there are no fakes of this watch. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
