Circumcision and the Covenant -- Voddie Baucham

Pastor Voddie confesses that this is a difficult and confusing passage, but shows us that even here we can see the beauty of the covenant revealed in circumcision.
Circumcision and the Covenant -- Voddie Baucham
Exodus 4:24-26:
24 At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. 25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!” 26 So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.

Circumcision is an act of removing the man’s protection from harm. He now was subject to God’s protection for his vulnerability. Man’s effort of protection against God’s PROMISED protection for His “chosen people”. This was a sign of the separation between the pagans and the “chosen people”.

I'm fully persuaded that it is by God's providence to listen to this teaching. I bless God for this. Thanks Pst. Voddie for this. Amen.

In the New Covenant, Protection again is the issue, where God allows our hearts to be circumcised by pain and suffering, and by faith we “believe in our protection of our vulnerabilities, living by truth, from our GOD, And His Son Jesus Christ. When we SEE and RECEIVE HIS GRACE aND MERCY, and our hearts are touched so deeply for what Christ has done for us, Grace comes to us, and we BELIEVE. “Unbelief” is not ours any longer..

Obedience brings blessing, and disobedience brings cursings. One of the criticisms that God speaks of about the first “chosen people” was against their “unfaithfulness” or “unbelief”. Read about this in Hebrews 8. So, how did The Father remedy this problem? In time He sent the “faithful” Holy Spirit to live within EACH “chosen Person” He has “called”, so that NOW, THE BELIEVER IS ABLE TO BE “BELIEVING” AND “FAITHFUL” TO CHRIST, His Son.

I did not speak to the issue of forgiveness and cleansing, for the sake of focusing on a shorter understanding, at this time.

God is HEAD. GOD GIVES LIFE, (THE SPERM), AND THE MALE IS DEALT WITH HERE, ONLY. THE “GIVING OF LIFE”, (THE SPERM) IS NOW UNDER THE PROTECTION OF GOD FOR GOD’S PEOPLE, BY FAITH. (Regarding male, and female, male (like God as HEAD, GIVES, and female, as “helper” RECEIVES, to create the WHOLE HUMAN BEING)

Pardon my ignorance, but do Presbyterians only baptize babies, or can adults be baptized, too?

If a MAN fails to obey and honor the Lord God’s purposes, HE WILL USE A WOMAN. He GOES TO A MAN FIRST, BECAUSE HE PROMOTES HIS OWN INTEGRITY, ALWAYS.
