CIRCA 24 - MOLLYMAWK BOAT REVIEW

Фильм және анимация

When Circa Marine decided they wanted to build their own long range, fast passagemaker, they teamed up with fellow Kiwi’s, Craig Loomes and Andre Moltschaniwsky of LOMOcean Marine.
Mollymawk, is the first boat to be launched from the new Circa passagemaker series, a fully NZ designed and built vessel, that will provide safe, efficient ocean cruising with comfort and ease of operation. Mollymawk, built for an Australian client is the first of two, Circa 24m, vessels in construction, with the second for a European based owner, due for launching later this year.
This is a very unique vessel that combines practicality with simplicity, yet offers all the comforts of an apartment on the water. Underway at cruising speeds the sound levels onboard make for very comfortable cruising at only 50dB in the saloon and the lower deck accommodations reading 46dB forward and 55dB aft.
Mollymawk was designed in response to a brief defined by Circa Marine for a robust, safe, economical, long range, passage maker, without excessive complexity.

Thank you for the presentation. Great looking yacht. Reminds me of a Dashew FPB and now the Arnsen, with utility on the outside, and cozy simplicity on the inside.

Inspired by a Dashew FPB. There are a lot of designs that are inspired by the original FPBs by Mr & Mrs Dashew. Lots of similarities but different. Both nice.

So not a Dashew boat. Too bad they couldn't continue the FPB line. Hopefully the new ones will be similar quality given hopefully being made in the same yard.

amazing the oblique manner in which he refers to passage making aficionados... ! Also not showing much under the water line, but me thinks he may have licensed some info from El Stevo now that he is retired from building. I have to say they murdered the superstructure though. YIKES!

And not a single mention of the GENIUS design by Steve Dashew. The FPB looks much better anyway. Sorry

Looks to me like the superstructure is way too tall and does not look like it has self-righting capability like a FPB

  • @chippyjohn1

its not about height but weight and displacement. If it is tall and lite and water tight it would aid in self righting properties.

I guarantee it's based on Steve's designs, the FPB's were designed by Steve Dashew, but they were built in New Zealand by Circa. I would love to own an FPB around 130 ft in length.

In a just world the Dashew estate would live like kings for generations for their contributions to the passage maker world. To be honest this one just doesn’t have the FPB elegance. Too much volume high up imo.

No no no, this is NOT a unique vessel. Not even close. It is just a knock off! The ingenious design of Steve and Linda Dashew came more than a decade earlier. How can this be ignored over and over again? Thumbs down

8 knots??????? The vessel better come with a gun. Because a 8 knots you are going to want to shoot yourself due to the boredom. 8 knots is like watching paint dry.
