Cinematic Timelapse of LNG Powered AIDAnova Cruise Ship
Фильм және анимация
A time lapse movie in UHD, 4K by MK timelapse GmbH, www.mktimelapse.com.
Built at Meyer and Neptun Shipyards in Germany and Meyer Turku in Finland, AIDAnova is the first of a new generation of LNG Powered Cruise Ships for Carnival Cruises - the Helios Class. The vessel is 337m Long and can house 6.600 passengers.
We filmed the entire construction process with our advanced MK V4 timelapse cameras, shooting 40mp images every single minute.
The music has been composed for this video by sound artist Harry Price:

"It's been awesome soundtracking this time-lapse with Max and the MK timelapse team. Not only are they true pros in their field, and the nicest guys, but they pretty much gave me a free reign to create something that would complement the magnificence of the AIDAnova and the incredible build visuals. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out - thanks guys!"

I know because my wife is doing thins kind of work and she has days when she's spending minimum 10 hours for some piping, cables, ventilation and when you think you finished, are coming updates/changes from shipyard and you have to modify again. Only downsides are that LNG needs to be stored in a cryogenic tank and it’s more expensive than heavy fuel oil.

Absolutely incredible time lapse. The mixture of music and the step by step process of construction really reinforced the ingenuity of humanity. Just being able to witness a flat hull turn into a huge floating hotel is something special. I also love that the time lapse continues during the celebration and fireworks, as well as the maiden voyage. It somehow added to the awe of the whole process, as if celebrating the construction with fireworks and a band, and the maiden voyage, are just as essential to the construction as the rest of the video.
What blows my mind is how these things are capable of staying upright. They look so incredibly top-heavy. Yeah, I know the engines are on the bottom, and the fuel tanks (which get lighter as they use fuel), but still the percentage of the ship that is under water is very little so it just looks like they would topple over as soon as they are floated.

@Zombie Sheep of the Apocalypse - Yes, I am familiar with ballast tanks. I also can see there isn't much room for them when you see this being built. Even if the entire bottom is filled with water it appears not to be enough. Of course they float well enough, so I am referring to how they APPEAR.
