    EJ! You could make the sky a chlid of the texture sphere, and rotate the sphere instead of the texture. Set the sphere to "not visible in render" and the sky to "visible" which'll save some time.

  • @eyedesyn

    @eyedesyn

    7 жыл бұрын

    Depends on what you mean, are you talking about splotchiness on the objects? That would be fixed by upping the GI samples. GI Portals are used in conjunction with objects, like Planes, not HDRI's. There's a good description of them in the C4D Help file!

  • @GodDamnShr00b

    @GodDamnShr00b

    7 жыл бұрын

    Ahhhh how to I describe them... It's something like when I tried to use photometric light in Maya with Mentalray and not having enough photons thus getting a very splotchy light around the edges. I think upping the GI samples are going to do the trick! Thanks a lot and keep 'em coming!

  • @eyedesyn

    Hello EJ, I've been learning from you and recently i ran into a problem is that when i open GI using Irradiance Cache + Secondary Method, render in animation there's noticeable flicker all the time, i try to fix it by click "full animation"or crank up the sample count + quality, or by click Identical Noise Distribution,none of them really working, the problem still remains, I know its sounds impossible but is there anyway to decrease the flicker and solve this?

  • @eyedesyn

    @eyedesyn

    6 жыл бұрын

    What are you using for Secondary Method? I typically use Light Mapping and crank up the Path Count, hopefulyl that would help!

  • @maximilianyuen
    @maximilianyuen7 жыл бұрын

    thanks for the great tutorial. but one critical problem, using your GI setting I got inconsistent in animation, the flickering is way too obvious and impossible to not notice. I thought it's because of my rough reflection that cause it but i can certain that it's the GI problem after a few test. Google a bit and this seems a common problem and yet no obvious solution other than QMC, which is like 10 times slower with lots of grain at reasonable rendering time.... But I am using your setting on a dark room with lots of TV screen, the screens being the only light source. So is this setting only viable for HDRI / physical sky light setting but not from illimination texture? Thanks!

  • @eyedesyn

    @eyedesyn

    7 жыл бұрын

    I'd up the IR or QMC samples if you're seeing that flickering. Also upping those Adaptive samples as well and testing to see how far you need to push it!

  • @maximilianyuen

    @maximilianyuen

    so I should not used IR+light map, but QMC + light map?
