Cinema 4D Papillon Hall - as extended by Edwin Lutyens c1903

Фильм және анимация

This is the very first model I made in Cinema 4D and also my first animation! It is incomplete but shows the hall as it used to be before it was demolished around 1950. I have also built a model of the original hall (designed by its owner David Papillon in the 1600s) before Sir Edwin Lutyens made these huge changes to it, which I will upload later. The land is now occupied by a farm but the pond and several other remains of the hall can still be seen today. Where possible, I have utilised textures of the actual materials found on site, including a shot of the actual view from the site as a backdrop.

Thanks for this! I've always been fascinated by Papillon Court & regretted its destruction, so it's great to finally get at least some idea of how the building would have looked in three dimensions. If you ever return to this model, it'd be wonderful to see a render of the entrance sequence, from the drive through the main portico & then left into the basin court, then around the colonnade & through those double doors into the outer hall. That has to be one of those most interesting bits of domestic theater Lutyens ever designed & I've always wanted to get a sense of whether he managed to make such a complex sequence 'work' ;) Anyway, once again, many thanks for this glimpse into an unfortunately vanished bit of architectural history!
