Cinch it TIGHT!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here we go through another cinch tie off when working down a spar. It's always important to have a mode of egress, in the event of an emergency!

This is where SRT shines, easy to create a system for emergency decent/ascent for a rescuer and have it retrievable.

Great Video. Though you are effectively on a single line, there are more moving lines and drawbacks to this method than the real and simple moving rope technique or DRT. Running Bowline on a bite with a retrieval tail that reaches your next working position, or all the way to the ground uses much less rope than this and actually runs like SRT.

Holy cow that was neat as heck but when I looked at it when you went to the ground that was three times the event amount of rope dang Skippy yes using a lot of rub you're right but thank you for the video

to get that multi rope technique you use five lenghts of the rope. To climb 20m tree you need 100m (330ft) length rope. With that length of the rope you can climb a Redwood tree in Sequoia National Park.

That seems overly complicated for a spar tie in. I usually choke off with an ANSI rated HMS carabiner. Simply pass the running end through the biner to make it retrievable and add friction for descent. It works great with a simple friction hitch and tending pulley, but is also suitable for an Akimbo or Zigzag.

I wasn't a fan of how much that bowline came away from the tree as the ring side was loaded. This could cause just enough slack on the cinching aspect and pull on the wrong leg of rope to cause the cinch to not work properly.
